The Community Service and Environmental Development Sector at the Faculty of Engineering, Menoufia University, organized an awareness-raising scientific symposium entitled "Environmental Architecture...Towards Sustainability" under the auspices of Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of the University, and Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Bagouri, Advisor to the President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and under the supervision of Dr. Mahmoud Sheikh Dean of the College of Engineering and Dr. Ragai Saleh, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, as part of the activities of the College’s Environmental and Cultural Week.

This was lectured by Dr. Mohamed Adel Shebl, assistant professor in the Department of Architecture at the college, and stressed the importance of green architecture as it is compatible with the environment.

He pointed out that its main features promote and adopt a close link between architecture and the economy. He also talked about the methods used to apply the green building idea, referring to the efficiency of the materials used, the health and safety of building users, the types of product recycling and environmental requirements.
