Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, received from Dr. Mohamed Latif, Secretary of the Supreme Council of Universities, about the efforts of universities to confront the problem of illiteracy, within the framework of the national project to eradicate illiteracy in Egypt, in cooperation with the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education.

The report pointed out the success of a number of Egyptian universities in presenting luminous models and achieving great achievements in facing the problem of illiteracy, and among these universities is Menoufia University, which eliminated illiteracy number 10181 within two years, especially in light of the challenges imposed by the Corona pandemic.

 

Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, expressed his happiness with this achievement presented to the community, which comes as part of the university’s efforts to implement the state’s plan to declare Egypt free of illiteracy and within the activities of the initiative launched by His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, “a decent life”, and the university’s plan to contribute to the implementation of activities and events This is an important presidential initiative that targets citizens in the most needy villages.

The president of the university would like to thank the Adult Education Center at the Faculty of Education and its administrators, and all the faculties involved in confronting the issue of illiteracy eradication and contributing to the implementation of the university's plan to declare the Menoufia governorate free of illiteracy.
