The Faculty of Health Sciences Technology at Menoufia University organized an awareness seminar on the dangers of addiction and drugs, under the auspices of Dr. Community service and environmental development, in cooperation with the General Administration of Community Service at the university

The symposium dealt with how to prevent the dangers of addiction and drug abuse, as the college hosted a delegation from the work team of the Fund for Combating and Treating Addiction and Abuse of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, within the framework of the national campaign to combat drugs under the slogan "You are stronger than drugs."

Dr. Farid Wagdy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, stressed the importance of the role played by the Fund in combating and treating addiction, and explained the need to communicate with the Fund and conduct the necessary courses to spread awareness and train students in the college during the coming period.

The representatives of the Fund urged the participation of students of the College of Health Sciences Technology in spreading preventive awareness as they are practitioners and scholars, and they also explained the methods of dealing with the hotline service 16023, which provides counseling, treatment and rehabilitation services for free, and the professional and ethical values followed by the Fund that preserve the privacy of individuals in complete secrecy.

During the symposium, students were trained on methods of prevention, confrontation, and awareness-raising, and the types of drugs and their danger to health were reviewed.

Representatives of the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund also pointed out the need for students to join the campaigns and initiatives organized by the Fund on a regular basis in order to raise awareness of the dangers of narcotic substances, methods of early detection of injured people, the importance of prevention and participation in festivals, sports, cultural and social competitions and all student activities and camps organized by the university under the slogan “You are stronger than drugs.”

The initiative delegation included Dr. Iman Shukr, General Coordinator of Menoufia University, Alaa Fathi, Director General of Community Service at the university, and from the Addiction Control and Treatment Fund, Noha Abdel Sadiq, Head of the Menoufia Volunteers Unit, Hoda El Sayed, Media and Public Relations Officer at the Fund, and a number of young volunteers in the initiative, including Mohamed Khairy, Mohamed Siddik and Heidi .
