Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of Menoufia University for Community Service and Environmental Development, launched this morning in a medical and social awareness convoy, in cooperation with the Presidential Initiative, a decent life, to the village of Darajil, Martyrs Center, Menoufia Governorate, with the participation of the Faculties of Medicine, Applied Health Sciences, Nursing and Home Economics.


Sharaf Ali stressed that the university always seeks to serve the community and develop it with all its medical, engineering or educational cadres.


Sharaf shed light on the “Our Beautiful Ethics” initiative, on how parents raise their children and direct them to our beautiful morals and establish the values of citizenship, cooperation, sincerity and dedication to work in order to achieve economic, social and cultural development for our beloved Egypt.


For his part, Dr. Farid Wagdy, Vice Dean of the College of Applied Medical Sciences for Community Service and Environmental Development, spoke about glaucoma, its danger to sight, the causes of its occurrence, and how to prevent it. He also distributed an awareness brochure to the people of the village to increase emphasis on spreading awareness against the seriousness of this disease.


Examinations were also signed for nearly 500 citizens from the nearby residents in various medical specialties, including internal medicine, pediatrics, eyes, dermatology, chest, heart, and general surgery.


Dr. Reda El-Fishawy, Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at the Faculty of Nursing, Menoufia University, presented a training course on first aid. Dr. Iman Raafat, Department of Handicrafts, Faculty of Home Economics, trained the villagers on some types of handicrafts that enable them to increase their productivity and open work fields for them.


The integrated convoy included awareness seminars on "the danger and addiction of electronic games" delivered by Dr. Imad Abu Saree, head of the Department of Psychology in Menoufia Education, under the auspices of Major General Ibrahim Abulimon, at Martyr Osama Said Secondary School in Darajil, in addition to an awareness seminar on "food recycling" and how to use leftover food To be used again as healthy meals, provided by Dr. Siham Aziz, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Home Economics, Menoufia University


The convoy concluded its work by honoring all the participants, as Sharaf presented certificates of thanks and appreciation to all the participants in appreciation of their efforts in serving the people of the village and society.
