Menoufia University Media Wins Media Creativity Competition and Discusses Graduation Projects for Class of 2024/2025

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, announced the Faculty of Mass Communication's victory in the Media Creativity Competition as part of the graduation project awards organized by the Media and Digital Transformation Foundation. The documentary film "Study in Egypt" from the Radio and Television Department won third place at the national level. The competition was held under the supervision of Prof. Nasser Abdel Bary, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Nadia El-Kady, Dean of the Faculty; Prof. Adel Refaat, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Howayda El-Dor, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies and Research; Prof. Sherine El-Beheiry, Vice Dean for Community Service; Prof. Walaa Fayez, Head of the Radio and Television Department; and Amira Salama, a teaching assistant in the department.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of the University, praised the Menoufia University media staff, emphasizing his confidence in their creative abilities across various departments, including television, radio, journalism of various types, as well as marketing communications and public relations. He emphasized that the media plays a pivotal role in society and even the world. The envoy extended his heartfelt congratulations to the "Study in Egypt" media team and the Menoufia University media cadres in general, both graduates and students, emphasizing their ability to positively impact society, raise cultural, intellectual, and scientific awareness, and address local and global issues with impartiality, transparency, sincerity, and dedication, thus achieving the country's stability and security. He directed his male and female students to emphasize that the Egyptian media is the fourth branch of government, given its significant ability to guide public opinion. Therefore, you bear a great responsibility to preserve the country's security and stability and achieve Egypt's Vision 2030.

It is worth noting that the Media Creativity Competition, launched by the Media and Digital Transformation Foundation five years ago, is the largest in the Arab world and globally.

The remaining results for the Arab and international levels, as well as the Media Appreciation Awards, Academic Excellence Awards, and Personality of the Year Awards, and the results of the Scientific Research and Dissertation Competition, are expected to be announced in the coming days.

Prof. Nadia El-Qadi also attended the jury for the 2024/2025 graduation projects of the Radio and Television Department. Held under the patronage of Dr. Adel Refaat, Dr. Howayda El-Dor, Dr. Walaa Fayez, and Dr. Rasha El-Sheikh, Assistant Professor in the Department, the festival featured a number of television films from the Television Division, including the documentaries "Adeem," "Borda," "Aam," "150," and "361." The films highlighted entrepreneurship projects, others about people with disabilities, and orphanages. The Radio Division also included two projects: "Farewell Pulses" and the radio drama "State Zero," which discussed the Doomsday Clock and psychological and social issues, combining drama, marketing, and mystery. The judging panel included several professors, media experts, and program producers from radio and television. These included Ali Abdel Aal, senior director at Egyptian Radio; Reda Abdel Salam, former head of the Holy Quran Radio; Tamer Khattab, executive editor-in-chief of a program group at the Media Production City; Heba Hamza, presenter at Egyptian TV; Reem Ali, director at Egyptian TV; Emad Yousry, head of marketing and digital media; Dr. Amr Al-Sheikha, director at the National Media Authority; and Dr. Islam Jaafar, editor at United Advertising Company.

The judging panel members praised the quality of the films presented, in terms of their professionalism. This reflects significant effort and demonstrates the students' extensive training within the college in the arts of production, photography, lighting, directing, and other topics. They also addressed important societal issues. They also praised the quality and boldness of the ideas, and the students' commitment to the elements required for radio and television work. They expressed their deep satisfaction with this emerging generation of distinguished media professionals. The committee also provided some important advice and notes for students on the threshold of the media job market.
