The AI Revolution in Anesthesia at the National Liver Institute in Menoufia… A Specialized Workshop Led by Prof. Magdy Khalil
The National Liver Institute hosted a distinguished workshop titled “Artificial Intelligence Tools in Anesthesia,” as part of the major scientific activities of the Second Integrated Conference of the National Liver Institute 2026. The workshop highlighted the transformative changes taking place in operating rooms and intensive care units благодаря smart technologies.
The session was led and delivered by Dr. Magdy Khalil, Professor of Anesthesia and Critical Care Management at the National Liver Institute, Secretary of the Egyptian Society for Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition (EgSPEN), and a certified trainer at the European Society for Clinical Nutrition and Metabolism (ESPEN). He reviewed the latest algorithms used in predicting critical cases and managing anesthesia with high precision based on big data.
The workshop was organized and supervised by Dr. Menna El-Shafie, Head of the Anesthesia Department at the institute, who emphasized that this event aims to enhance physicians’ technical skills and integrate modern technology into daily practice, thereby reducing human error and increasing patient safety during complex surgical procedures.
In his remarks during the event, Prof. Dr. Osama Hegazy, Dean of the National Liver Institute at Menoufia University, expressed his pride in the workshop’s academic level, stating:
“The presence of distinguished experts like Dr. Magdy Khalil to speak about future technologies reflects the institute’s commitment to delivering medical care that matches global standards. Artificial intelligence is no longer an optional tool in anesthesia and intensive care—it has become a fundamental pillar that supports clinical decision-making and ensures patient safety. At Menoufia University and the National Liver Institute, we are committed to localizing these technologies and training young professionals to ensure our institution remains at the forefront of medical excellence.”
The workshop concluded with extensive discussions on how to practically implement these intelligent tools, amid wide praise from attendees for the outstanding organization by the Anesthesia Department and the significant scientific value added by this year’s second edition of the integrated conference.
