A New Milestone in the Treatment of Bone Tumors at the National Liver Institute Hospital – Menoufia University 🦴

✨ By the grace of God, and as part of its continued scientific and medical leadership, the Radiology Department organized a specialized workshop titled:
“Bone Tumor Ablation”
This workshop was held ضمن the activities of the Annual Integrated Conference of the National Liver Institute (NLICC 2026), in line with the institute’s and department’s vision to provide the latest advances in interventional radiology.

⭐️ The workshop was conducted under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Gamal Niazi, Professor of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology at Ain Shams University.

🟡 The event was held under the esteemed patronage of:

  • Prof. Dr. Ahmed El-Kassed – President of Menoufia University
  • Prof. Dr. Osama Hegazy – Dean of the National Liver Institute
  • Prof. Dr. Hany Shereem – Vice Dean for Environmental Affairs
  • Prof. Dr. Iman Abdel Samie – Vice Dean for Graduate Studies
  • Prof. Dr. Mohamed Husseiny – Head of the Radiology Department
  • Prof. Dr. Hazem Omar – Head of the Interventional Radiology Unit

📚 The workshop featured a distinguished scientific lecture covering the latest advancements in treating bone tumors using thermal ablation, along with case presentations and practical applications.

🤝 We also extend our sincere thanks to all faculty members, colleagues, the anesthesia team, nursing staff, technicians, and everyone who contributed to the success of this event.

👏🏻 Four successful thermal ablation procedures for bone tumors were performed, including cases involving children and young patients suffering from Osteoid Osteoma, achieving high precision and promising outcomes. This represents a new hope for patients, offering effective treatment and pain relief without the need for complex surgical interventions.

📌 Why Thermal Ablation?
Thermal ablation is one of the latest medical techniques used in treating bone tumors (such as Osteoid Osteoma and others), and it is characterized by:

  • ✅ High precision in targeting tumors under CT guidance
  • ✅ Very fast patient recovery time
  • ✅ Reduced need for conventional surgical intervention

✨ The Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology Department at the National Liver Institute remains committed to staying at the forefront of medical advancements, continuously working to enhance healthcare services and provide the highest level of care for patients.
