The activities of the twenty-seventh conference of the Faculty of Medicine at Menoufia University discussed 30 scientific sessions and 130 lectures and research with the participation of the various departments of the faculty. Several important topics, including the use of technology in assessment, how to implement the competency-based education system, how to evaluate the success of the educational program, best practices in the application of the flipped classroom system and integrative teaching between theory and practice
Dr. Abdul Rahman Al-Sibai, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs and the conference’s decision, indicated that 7 scientific workshops and scientific forums were also held for the departments of pathology, radiology, cardiology, anesthesia, internal medicine, and postgraduate studies, in addition to a workshop for students under the title of changes that occurred in the means of medical education during the Corona crisis headed by Dr. Nasser Abdel Bari, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, and a scientific session was held on medical education in the postgraduate studies stage and the changes that occurred due to the Corona pandemic, headed by Dr. Dr. Salwa Fouad, and Dr. Najwa Nashat
The scientific conference of the departments of microbiology, pharmacology and community medicine was also held in the presence of Dr. Wafaa Zahran, director of the quality unit at the university, Dr. Amal Makled and Dr. Sami Al-Dahdouh. The conference presented the experience of university hospitals in addressing the Corona crisis and the relationship of immunity to infection with Corona diseases and the new in treatment and diagnosis, and the protocols that were presented were also presented. Its use during the treatment of isolated cases in Menoufia University Hospitals and the Liver Institute, in addition to displaying difficult clinical cases that were treated with protocols at university hospitals. Dr. Sayed Al-Shayeb, Head of the Digestive System and Liver Unit, indicated that he held a workshop in the Internal Medicine Department that reviewed the Corona disease and its impact on the body and its complications, with the participation of professors of diabetes, kidneys and the digestive system from the various units of the department, as well as professors of rheumatology and rheumatism. the pandemic
The workshop also clarified the importance of various vaccinations to reduce side effects and the impact of Covid 19 on health, with presentation of statistics on infection rates and methods of treatment, especially with new strains and how to deal with them. Head of the dialysis unit and Dr. Imad Al-Shibiny, the rheumatology unit Dr. Ayman Al-Lahlah, Head of the Department of Hepatology, Digestive System and Infectious Diseases added that the scientific day of the department, which is held within the activities of the conference, discussed the diseases of Corona, the digestive system, various vaccinations and their importance and newness in methods of treatment and diagnosis, in addition to presenting clinical cases that have been treated and the most important negative effects of some drugs if taken. He explained that the scientific day recommended the necessity to adhere to all precautionary measures and the need to take the appropriate vaccination against the virus, and to quickly consult a doctor in the event of any symptoms appearing and not to be lenient so as not to affect the patient's health and deteriorate his condition.
