Under the patronage of Dr. Ahmed Faraj Al-Qasid, President of the University, Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Hazem Saleh, Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Muhammad Al-Nomani, Dean of the College and Chairman of the Board of Directors of University Hospitals, inaugurated the activities of the Scientific Day. The Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology in cooperation with the Infection Control Unit at University Hospitals under the title:

This was in the presence of Dr. Muhammad Al-Sawy, Vice Dean of the College for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Rania Azmi, Vice Dean of the College for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, headed by Dr. Azza Labib, Head of the Department of Medical Microbiology and Immunology, and Dr. Sahar Ali, Director of the Infection Control Unit at University Hospitals.

For his part, Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, welcomed the attendance of the scientific day from faculty members and students, and conveyed to the attendees the greetings of Dr. Ahmed Al-Qassed, President of the University, and praised the exhibits and models that the students made during the exhibition that opened on the sidelines of the day. Dr. Hazem Saleh praised the student exhibition and the models and posters that the students made under the supervision of the department’s professors, pointing out the importance of interactive education, the students’ participation in scientific research, infection control, limiting the spread of diseases, and their gaining experience from their professors.

In his speech, the Dean of the College welcomed the Vice Presidents of the University, the distinguished guests of the College, and the attendees of the Scientific Day. His Excellency indicated that the Scientific Day aims to raise awareness about respiratory diseases and their complications, which have become a clear threat to the health of Egyptian society, and about how to prevent and vaccinate against these advanced diseases. It also sheds light on respiratory infections, which have become a global trend due to the risks they pose

The Dean of the College explained that on the sidelines of the Scientific Day, a medical exhibition was held in the College Hall and included illuminated posters and models on everything related to respiratory infections such as (Coronavirus and TB and how to prevent their transmission) presented by microbiologists, students from the College, and honors doctors. Infection control diploma students. It also holds training workshops on Standard precautions - Airborne precautions and Droplet precautions.

Dr. Azza Labib, Head of the Department, indicated that the scientific day includes a medical exhibition, workshops, and awareness lectures on respiratory infections and ways to prevent them, as well as teaching to second-year students (respiratory module) in innovative ways by providing explanations of posters, models, and workshops. It also includes intensive training for diploma doctors to provide workshops and explain educational posters with the help of microbiologists and the infection control team. A competition was held for the best trainer and presenter within the medical exhibition and workshops by an evaluation committee composed of professors of microbiology and infection control.
