With the participation of the Dean of the Institute and the Director General of Medical Funding, the National Liver Institute at Menoufia University showcased its “Clinical Governance” experience at the Arab Pharmacists Conference.
The National Liver Institute at Menoufia University participated with high-level representation in the activities of the “10th International Conference of Arab Pharmacists,” a prominent Arab scientific event attended by leading healthcare experts. The institute received a special official invitation and a prestigious honor in recognition of its pioneering and significant role in supporting the healthcare system at both the local and regional levels.
This distinguished participation came through the “Clinical Pharmacy Unit” under the direct supervision of the institute’s Medical Funding and Pharmacy Administration. The institute presented a full scientific session highlighting “Clinical Governance and Its Role in Achieving Excellence at the National Liver Institute Hospital,” as well as practical mechanisms for implementing the seven pillars of clinical governance to ensure patient safety and enhance the efficiency of the pharmaceutical system.
The session provided a comprehensive overview of how the theoretical concepts of clinical governance have been transformed into tangible practices within the institute, focusing on the following areas:
- Clinical effectiveness and risk management through the implementation of standardized protocols to reduce medication errors and proactively address medical risks.
- Continuous development and education through the institute’s strategies to improve the competencies of medical and pharmaceutical staff while keeping pace with the latest global therapeutic advancements.
- Digitalization and information governance through the pivotal role of the Hospital Information System (HIS) in improving the quality of medical services and governing data to support medical and pharmaceutical decision-making.
In this context, Professor Dr. Osama Hegazy, Dean of the National Liver Institute, stated:
“The institute’s participation in this important Arab forum reflects the prestigious scientific and research standing it has achieved. We do not merely aim to provide medical treatment; rather, our staff works tirelessly to implement the latest international healthcare management systems, such as governance of daily medical practices, which is the secret behind the institute’s success in alleviating patients’ suffering and saving lives. Comprehensive digital transformation through the HIS system represents the cornerstone of advancing healthcare services.”
Dr. Mona Zanaty, Director General of Medical Funding and Pharmacies at the institute, also stated:
“I am extremely proud of our team and of the achievements accomplished by the Clinical Pharmacy Unit and Pharmacy Administration on the ground. The Arab Pharmacists Conference was an ideal platform through which we shared our practical experiences and success stories in implementing the seven pillars of clinical governance with colleagues from various Arab countries. Our goal has always been to prove that strong pharmaceutical management and clinical pharmacy are the cornerstones of developing the healthcare system and achieving excellence and leadership at the institute’s hospital.”
