In the first initiative of its kind by the Ministry of Education at the republic level, the Directorate of Education in Menoufia Governorate organized, under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, Major General Ibrahim Abu Laimon, Governor of Menoufia, and the supervision of Prof.Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in the presence of Major General Diaa Abdel Hamid, Secretary General of the Governorate, Mohamed Salah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Education in the Governorate, and Nadia Abdullah, Head of the Central Administration for Teachers' Affairs in Cairo, a ceremony to honor the children of deceased teachers under the slogan "We will not forget you".
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of the University, stressed his appreciation for the Egyptian teacher, who is responsible for adopting nations morally, scientifically and culturally, pointing out that school students are the basic building block on which any advanced country is built, and teachers raise generations capable of building, challenging difficulties and facing challenges. If the teacher is righteous, nations and countries are righteous.
The university president expressed his happiness to host this celebration, extending his highest thanks and appreciation to the Egyptian teacher for his pivotal role in raising generations and preparing them for the university stage, noting that Menoufia University is keen to prepare the teacher well through the university's specialized colleges, namely the College of Education and Specific Education, Home Economics, and Early Childhood Education.
For his part, Prof. Sobhi Sharaf welcomed the attendees, stressing the university's keenness to stand side by side with all the governorate's institutions in its various forums and the challenges it faces, pointing out that the community service sector pays great attention to supporting the bonds of cooperation with the community in achieving the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030.
The ceremony was attended by Bishop Benjamin, Bishop of Menoufia, Tarek Saad, Director of Education in Menoufia Governorate, Dr. Hassan Gawish, Head of the Central Administration of the Azhar Region, Dr. Ahmed Zahran, Member of the Board of Trustees of the Governorate, Wafaa Sobhi, Director General of the Educational Buildings Authority, Mahmoud Hagag, Director General of the General Administration and Support for Teachers;
The ceremony was held with the support and attendance of the Parents, Trustees and Teachers Council in Menoufia Governorate, headed by Dr. Hassan El-Kholi, Chairman of the Council. The ceremony concluded with singing and poetry performances by male and female students of the governorate’s schools in love of Egypt, and the presentation of shields to the leaders of the university, the governorate and the Ministry of Education, as well as certificates of appreciation and commemorative gifts to the families of the deceased teachers.
