International students at Egyptian universities praise the capabilities of the National Liver Institute and the Oncology Institute at Menoufia University

Under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the Central Administration for International Students Affairs organized a visit for a group of international students under the supervision of Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Ghani, Head of the Central Administration for International Students Affairs, and in the presence of Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Nasser Abdel-Bari, Vice President of the University for Education and Students Affairs, Prof. Ekramy Gamal, Secretary General of the University, Prof. Osama Hegazy, Dean of the National Liver Institute, Prof. Hossam El-Fol, Dean of the Oncology Institute, Prof. Ahmed Attia, Executive Director of the Liver Institute Hospital, Prof. Mohamed El-Senbawy, Director of the Oncology Institute Hospital, and Prof. Mohamed Lotfy, Coordinator of International Students at the University.

The visit comes within the framework of the “Study in Egypt” initiative and the Egyptian Initiative for Scholarships and Educational Tourism EgyAID, and included a group of incoming students from the faculties of medicine, pharmacy, physical therapy, and computers and information, in addition to a large number of faculty members at faculties of medicine and incoming coordinators at universities. Prof. Ahmed El-Kased explained that the visit aims to inform the incoming students about the National Liver Institute and the Oncology Institute at Menoufia University, which are distinguished medical institutions in the Middle East, as well as to learn about the best practices of medical care and the systems followed to treat liver and cancer patients, adding that the students inspected the various departments of the National Liver Institute, and visited the medical clinics, treatment units, laboratories, research center, and clinical pharmacy at the Liver Institute. Prof. Ahmed El-Kased added that the National Liver Institute at Menoufia University is a medical institution that serves a large segment of patients, students, and researchers from all over the republic and sister Arab countries, adding that the institute has achieved many successive achievements within a few months, starting with the implementation of the governance system and the digital transformation of the university hospital at the National Liver Institute, which is one of the first university hospitals to implement this system, through institutional accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, so that the institute becomes one of the places that grant master's and doctoral degrees in its various specializations with international quality standards, as well as accreditation from the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Control, to be The Institute Hospital is one of the first university hospitals to obtain this high-level accreditation, so that the Institute provides high-quality medical services with standards that match international standards.

El-Kased also pointed out that the incoming students visited the Oncology Institute, where they visited the Radiotherapy Department, Radiotherapy Devices, CT Simulator, Linear Accelerator, Cobalt Device, and Brachytherapy

Which is the only device in Egypt for treating prostate tumors and one of the few devices for treating women's tumors. They also inspected the E-Pharmacy and Therapeutic Nutrition Unit, which is the unit responsible for preparing chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and therapeutic nutrition, in addition to visiting the Digital Transformation Unit.

Prof. Ahmed Abdel-Ghani also pointed out that the students listened to a documentary report on the National Liver Institute, its establishment, its work system, and the achievements it has made during its work journey to achieve the level of quality followed in providing the medical service provided to patients of the Liver Institute. The students were also briefed on the achievements of the Oncology Institute.

Dr. Ghada Ali, the university's international relations coordinator, added that the students expressed their appreciation for what they learned during the visit and the practical application of their studies in various medical fields, as well as their admiration for the advanced level of health care provided by the National Liver Institute and the Oncology Institute at Menoufia University, and the modern diagnostic and therapeutic devices used in all stages of treatment and health care. The visiting students presented souvenirs to Prof. Osama Hegazy, Dean of the National Liver Institute, and Prof. Hossam El-Fol, Dean of the Oncology Institute.
