Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, and Dr. Nancy Asaad, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, received Major General Mohamed Nabil Sadek, former agent of the Intelligence Service, during his visit to the university to lecture at an awareness seminar on the liberation and recovery of Sinai. The Egyptian and the sacrifices he made to recover the land of Sinai.
Also present at the symposium were Dr. Abd al-Khaleq Abdallah Gebba, Professor of Hebrew and Israeli Studies, Menoufia University, and Dr. Mohamed Ahmed Salih, Director of the Center for Oriental Studies, Cairo University, in the presence of Dr. Osama Madani, Dean of the Faculty of Arts at the University.
The symposium began with a minute of mourning for the souls of the beloved martyrs of Egypt, then Dr. Osama Madani, Dean of the Faculty of Arts and Media Advisor to the President of the University, welcomed the guests of the symposium and male and female students from various faculties.
During the symposium, Dr. Abdel-Khalek Jabbeh reviewed the lessons learned from the setback of June 1967 and how Egypt prepared to achieve victory. He spoke about the unity and cohesion of the Egyptian and Arab people with the political leaders to recover the land of Sinai from the enemies, and facts about the forces crossing the impenetrable water barrier. He also praised the steadfastness and courage of the Egyptian army.
Major General Muhammad Nabil Sadiq, former agent of the intelligence service, also spoke about the subject of the symposium, the Egyptian soldiers' preparations for war, the journey of heroism, and the obstacles that faced the Egyptian army and how to overcome them.
The symposium was attended by Dr. Muhammad Shaheen, Director General of the General Administration of Student Welfare, Dr. Amr Allam, Head of the Hebrew Language Department at Menoufia University, Dr. Magdy Shehata, Ain Shams University, Amal Al-Sawy, Director of the Families and Student Unions Department, Tariq Kamal, Director of the Leadership Development Department, and Dr. Doaa Al-Shaer presented the symposium.
The symposium concluded with an open dialogue with male and female students and opened the door for questions and inquiries about the subject of the symposium.
