The first dialogue session of the Menoufia University Forum, “Scientific Research and Industry: A Partnership for the Future,” under the patronage and presence of Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, University President, discussed “maximizing the role of the government sector in industry,” in light of the efforts of universities, research centers, and global economic institutions to study the expected change in Jobs of the future and contributing to linking scientific research with industry.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased pointed out that the first session of the conference emphasized the necessity of linking the bridge of science with industry in order to complete the production cycle, bridge the gap between scientific academies and industrial and production companies, and push the wheel of production forward with efficiency and high quality.


The session also addressed the topics of regulation and cooperation in the engineering sector, integration between good industrial practice standards and approved biological products, and discussion of new mechanisms for linking pharmaceutical industries with applied scientific research, and supporting knowledge, innovation and scientific research to build a knowledge society based on creativity and innovation that supports the strength and growth of the state and ensures human well-being.


El-Kased added that the session emphasized the importance of studying society’s needs for health care, education, food, and water, and digital transformation to guide scientific research and productive industries, to anticipate future jobs and their impact at the research level, and to support universities’ communication with industrial and production companies at the local, regional, and international levels.


The dialogue session also shed light on industrial pollution and its relationship to scientific research, the importance of enacting strict penalties for all violators of environmental pollution laws, maximizing the use of organic, industrial and agricultural waste to enhance economic power, and the vision of the Senate Health Committee on the mechanism of linking applied scientific research in academia with various industries.


Present at the session were Dr. Hazem Saleh, Vice President of the University for Graduate Studies and Research, Dr. Mohi Hafez, member of the Egyptian Senate, Head of the Pharmaceutical Industries Division at the Federation of Egyptian Industries and Head of the Medicines and Healthcare Group in the COMESA countries, and Major General Dr. Tariq Taha, Head of the Stem Cells and Regenerative Medicine Branch at the Center for Medical research and regenerative medicine, Dr. Magdy Zahran, Professor at the Faculty of Science and Scientific Advisor to Industry, Dr. Mohamed Abd Rabbo at the Environmental Affairs Agency in Tanta, in the presence of Dr. Maha Al-Tuni, Executive Coordinator of the Research Innovation Office.
