Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired the Master's thesis discussion committee at the Faculty of Medicine, which discussed the relationship between the CA15-3 ratio in the blood and clinical and pathological indicators in breast cancer patients, presented by Dr. Ahmed Atef Mohamed El-Ghazawy.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased stressed the importance of this research in the early detection of breast tumors and monitoring the development of the disease, explaining that CA 15.3 is a biological molecule normally secreted by breast cells. In breast cancer patients, malignant cells secrete a larger amount and can enter the bloodstream. The molecule is secreted less in localized breast tumors, and in advanced stages of the disease, the test is very useful to verify the diagnosis.
