Faculty of Medicine Launches A Campaign Against Addiction

Faculty of Medicine of Menoufia launched a campaign against addiction under the auspices of Dr. Moawad Al-Khuli, President of the University, Dr. Ahmad Jamal Al-Deen, Dean of the College and Chairman of the Board of University Hospitals, Dr. Nancy Asaad, Vice Dean for Education and Students Affairs and Dr. Mahmoud Qora, vice dean of the faculty for Community Services and Environmental Development

Dr. Safa Abdel-Zaher, Head of Forensic Medicine and Clinical Toxicology Department, pointed out that the campaign aims at raising awareness about the dangers of addiction to youth and its impact on their social and family life.

She explained that the university will coordinate with the university administration to tour the university faculties to raise awareness about the dangers of addiction, stressing that the work of smoking and addiction treatment clinic in Menoufia University Hospitals was opened and receiving cases for treatment on Thursday of each week and that  is the first specialized clinic that includes a group of doctors and consultants to treat smoking and addiction in the central Delta.

The students of the fourth year of the faculty also made an exhibition that includes guidance boards to identify the causes of addiction and its risks and how to treat it and identify the common names of narcotic substances prevalent among young people in society.
