This morning, Dr. Abdel-Rahman El-Bagoury, the university president’s advisor for community service and environmental development affairs, witnessed the visit of a delegation from the Adult Education Center at the Faculty of Education, Menoufia University, on an awareness visit to the students of the Faculty of Physical Education.

The delegation met the students in line and after saluting the flag to invite the students to participate actively in the national project for literacy and adult education.

The delegation included Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Dean of the College of Education, Dr. Mahmoud Fawzy, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development,

Heba Al-Ghotmy, Director of the Adult Education Center, Faculty of Education, Menoufia University

They were received by Dr. Naim Fawzy, Dean of the Faculty of Physical Education, Menoufia University, accompanied by Dr. Hamdy Watout, Vice Dean for Graduate Studies, Dr. Imad El Sersi, Vice Dean for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Rehab Salama, Vice Dean for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Islam Ghallab, Literacy and Adult Education Coordinator Head of the Department of Sports Administration and Promotion, College of Education and Sports.

At the beginning of the meeting, the delegation congratulated the male and female students of the college for obtaining the third place at the university level in the achievement of Menoufia University in the July 2020/2021 session in the field of literacy and adult education.

The visit confirmed that literacy is a national, religious and humanitarian duty in the first place. The students of Menoufia University must participate in this presidential initiative “a decent life” to reach the villages and centers of Menoufia governorate completely free of illiteracy, in cooperation with the General Authority for Literacy and Adult Education.

The meeting indicated how to contract with the Adult Education Authority and provide a database of illiterate learners, as well as curricula and test models in the Adult Education Center.

In a related context, a meeting was held with the Student Union at the college to be ambassadors for their colleagues in eradicating illiteracy.

The meeting also discussed proposals for the participation of university students to participate in this national project, and to direct integrated convoys, including educational convoys to eradicate illiteracy and adult education.

It is worth noting that Menoufia Governorate won two centers (Ashmoun - Al-Shuhada) within the presidential initiative, a decent life, with a total target of 81 rural villages, 27 villages in the Martyrs Center and 54 villages in the Ashmoun Center to improve the level of quality of services and meet all the demands and needs of the residents of those villages and change their reality for the better in a comprehensive manner.
