Human and veterinary medical convoy to the University of Menoufia to the village of Shanshour in Ashmoun

Menoufia University, the General Administration of Student Welfare, the Department of Social Activity and Trips, in cooperation with the Ministry of Youth and Sports, the Central Administration for Youth Development, the General Administration of Universities, organized a human and veterinary medical convoy to serve the people of the village of Shanshour, the Ashmoun Center in Menoufia, one of the villages of the Decent Life Initiative sponsored by His Excellency the President of the Republic Abdel Fattah Sisi.

The convoy was organized under the auspices of Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Minister of Youth and Sports, Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, and Dr. Nancy Asaad, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and supervised by Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, Director General of the General Administration of Student Welfare, and Alaa Fathy, Director General of Convoys at the University.

Dr. Muhammad Shaheen indicated that the organization of these convoys comes from the role of the university in serving the surrounding community and serving the people of the most needy and poorest villages, as patients are examined and treatment is given to them free of charge.

Alaa Fathi, Director General of the convoys at the university, added that the specializations in the convoy include internal medicine, pediatrics, dermatology, nose, ear, throat, bones, ophthalmology, brain, nerves, psychological and neurological, by specialized doctors from the university’s college of medicine to examine patients in the village and dispense medicines to patients for free, and veterinarians from the university’s college of veterinary medicine under supervision. Dr. Muhammad Al-Hwaiti, and health awareness was made to educate the villagers about the dangers of addiction and drugs.

Muhammad Khattab, director of social activity at the university, added that the number of examinations in the convoy reached about 96 cases in the internal medicine, 60 cases in children, 75 cases in the skin, 79 cases in the bones, 57 cases in the nose, ears and throat, 66 cases in ophthalmology, 23 cases in the brain and nerves, and 3 in family medicine. Treatment was given to them free of charge, and cases that required radiology, analysis and follow-up were transferred to university hospitals for the necessary work for them, and health education was made for all those who frequent the convoy in seminars about the dangers of addiction and drugs. The total number of examinations and seminars reached 660 cases from the villagers and neighboring villages.

The number of cases in the veterinary reached 70 cases of poultry and 60 cases of livestock, and treatment was taken free of charge.

The convoy was supervised by Osama Dhaif, Ahmed Saad El-Din, Safwat Moussa, Ahmed Seif, Rasha Adel, Maha Faraj, Areej Arafa, Wafaa Bilal and Awatef El Sharkawy.
