Dr. Muhammad Aboul Fotouh, Chairman of the Conference and Chairman of the Conference, added that the radiotherapy workshop, which was coordinated by Dr. Enas El-Khouli, Professor of Oncology, revolved around radiotherapy from close proximity. Professor Umesh from India spoke about radiotherapy from close range in cervical tumors, and Professor Hathal Haddad from Germany spoke about the role of Proximal radiotherapy in prostate tumors, Professor Yeit from Turkey on Quality Assurance in Proximity Radiotherapy. The coordinator of the scientific session on radiotherapy was Dr. Enas Abu Bakr Al-Khouli and Dr. Eman Jamal, and the session was chaired by: Dr. Muhammad Abul Fotouh, Dr. Khaled Al-Shahat, Dr. Muhammad Mahmoud, Dr. Suzi Gohar, and Dr. Reham Ahmed.
The therapeutic nutrition workshop, which was coordinated by Dr. Iman Abdel-Razzaq, professor of oncology, reviewed a number of cases, including the case of excessive obesity for a 44-year-old woman whose weight reached 250 kilos, which made it impossible to perform surgery to treat obesity. A diet was developed for the case to lose weight based on a few carbohydrates and a keto diet. For a period of two months, the weight was lost in a satisfactory manner, in preparation for surgery. The role of therapeutic nutrition was also discussed during the treatment of head and neck cancer, with a case of throat cancer being presented, as well as a follow-up of colon cancer and some post-removal surgical problems, and the role of therapeutic nutrition in helping patients. The radiological physics workshop also discussed the treatment of the period of interruption of treatment of a tumor patient with radiation, the extent to which the patient was affected by the length of the interruption period, and natural solutions to treat the interruption period by increasing the therapeutic dose or increasing the radiotherapy sessions according to internationally approved protocols.
