Menoufia University students visit the new National Cancer Institute 500/500 in Sheikh Zayed

Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, in cooperation and coordination with the leadership of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, and under the supervision of Dr. Nancy Asaad, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, and Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, Director General of the General Administration of Student Welfare, the Leadership Development Department, in coordination with the Military Education Department at the university, visited the National Cancer Institute The new 500/500 in Sheikh Zayed. The activities of the visit were supervised and implemented by Colonel of Staff Hani Muhammad Mussadeq, Director of the Military Education Department.


The visit included the participation of 50 male and female students from the Faculties of Human Medicine, Dentistry, the College of Pharmacy, the College of Nursing, and the College of Health Sciences Technology and Science.


The students were accompanied during the visit by Dr. Rabab Mabrouk, Dean of the College of Dentistry, Dr. Dalia Muhammad Ahmed Al Sabawi, representative of the College of Pharmacy, Captain Mahmoud Khaled Rifai in the Office of the Military Adviser, and Tariq Kamal, Director of the Leaders Preparation Department.


The activities included the presentation of a documentary film about the establishment and expansion of the Institute and its area of ​​34.5 acres. It consists of a specialized and integrated teaching hospital for the treatment of all types of tumors for all ages, with a capacity of 1020 beds in the internal department, 500 beds in the one-day treatment unit, 60 major operating rooms, and 15 radiotherapy machines. An integrated center for advanced cancer research that includes laboratory research laboratories that cover all areas of science related to prevention, diagnosis and treatment of tumors. The project also includes an integrated and approved facility for animals for medical and surgical experiments, and banks for stem cells and genetics associated with cancer.


At the end of the meeting, the attendees, on behalf of the university president, gave a word of thanks to all the leaders of the armed forces for the good reception and extended thanks and appreciation to those in charge of carrying out this visit from the leaders of the Popular and Military Defense Forces, as well as those who were receiving and accompanying the delegation and for the good organization of the visit.
