In order to activate the presidential initiative for the development of the Egyptian family through rural women pioneers, which was launched by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, accompanied by Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Dr. Magdy Matar, Director of the Egyptian Rural Development Center at Menoufia University In cooperation with the Department of Family Medicine, Faculty of Medicine, Menoufia University, and the Ministry of Social Solidarity and Menoufia Governorate.
El-Kased welcomed the rural female pioneers at the university and called for directing attention to the development of rural and urban women alike and removing societal pressures on them to enhance their empowerment in society, increase their participation in the labor market, and equip them with the art of dealing with health and community problems in accordance with the action plan of the presidential health initiative 100 million health, which includes detection and support Women's health, early detection of breast cancer, follow-up and treatment of chronic diseases and attention to family planning, in addition to working to raise awareness of the importance of family medicine, stressing that the family doctor is a friend of the family and is able to correctly diagnose any symptom or disease of family members with information about the family's sick history. Pointing to the importance of spreading health awareness through rural women pioneers and community communication teams, as they are able to change misconceptions spread in society in general and influence the target groups of rural Egyptian women in Egyptian villages. This is in addition to the need to study the results of seminars and training programs, stressing that a series of seminars will be organized. Education about cancerous and benign tumors in general and how to avoid and treat them.
Sharaf pointed out that the community service and environmental development sector always seeks to enhance interest in the Egyptian family, especially in the countryside, pointing out that the Menoufia governorate has a large number of villages through which it is possible to advance economic development through handicrafts that women can do in their homes, noting that the university will organize Regular workshops for rural women entrepreneurs to spread the culture of small and micro industries.
Dr. Nagwa Nashaat, Professor of Family Medicine and Director of Medical Education and Human Resources Development at Menoufia Medicine, gave an awareness seminar about family planning methods and its importance in solving the problem of population increase in order to achieve the state’s directions in limiting population increase. The distribution of responsibilities and that the man must be a support for his wife, not only financially. I also talked about many misconceptions spread in society, including the bad view of mental patients and the fear of visiting psychiatric clinics, stressing that the mental patient is like any patient who needs care, diagnosis and treatment.
