Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, participated in the periodic meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities, chaired by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and in the presence of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, and Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council and university presidents, members of the Council, at the Ministry’s headquarters in the New Administrative Capital.

The President of the University explained that during the session, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research stressed the importance of activating the role of universities in active participation in supporting efforts to develop society and the national economy and preparing qualified graduates to join the local, regional and international labor market, and the importance of concluding cooperation protocols with international universities, to upgrade the educational and research system, and continue to support Scientific research efforts to raise the ranking of Egyptian universities in international rankings.

The minister also directed to maximize the benefit from the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, to make the most of what it provides of unique possibilities for learning and training and making available various types of science and knowledge, and to work to increase research production in Egyptian universities, centers and research bodies, and to benefit from it in the development of industry service and production sectors, and also directed to activate The role of regional alliances that have been signed between institutions of higher education and production and industrial institutions at the level of the regions of the Republic.

During the meeting, the universities’ efforts to receive the new academic year 2023/2024 were reviewed, and all maintenance work for buildings, auditoriums, classrooms, laboratories, and university cities was completed, and safety and security measures were ensured in all university facilities in order to preserve lives and facilities, and the need for all university hospitals to be ready to receive students and conduct examinations. The necessary medical care before joining universities, and ensuring that all logistical needs are provided for the continuation of its work in providing health services to citizens, and the importance of intensifying the work of gifted and talented care centers in universities, to support talented students and people with different talents and discover them in various fields, in addition to intensifying the efforts of universities during the next academic year in Enhancing students' belonging, and educating them about the dangers of abnormal and extremist ideas.

The Council also reviewed a report on the success of universities in organizing capacity tests in Egyptian public universities for the academic year 2023/2024, in faculties that require passing capacity tests to enroll in them. Higher education and scientific research in cooperation with leading international companies in the field of information technology; With the aim of training faculty members, workers and technical staff specialized in the information technology sector of the Supreme Council of Universities and Higher Education Institutions, and providing them with specialized educational courses, as well as granting them accredited certificates.
