Today, Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired the meeting of the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Center at the university to discuss and discuss the approved standards for qualifying the university's faculties, approximately 60% of the faculties, to submit qualification files for Menoufia University to obtain institutional accreditation for public universities, in the presence of Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Dr. Nasser Abdel Bari, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Ikrami Gamal, Secretary General of the University, and Dr. Wafaa Zahran, Director of the Quality Assurance Center.
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of the University, congratulated Dr. Zainab Abdel Khaleq, Professor of Civil Engineering Department, Faculty of Engineering, and Dr. Noha Othman, Assistant Professor of Libraries Department, Faculty of Arts, Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance Center, wishing them further progress and success, and expressing his thanks and appreciation to the members of Menoufia University in the faculties and the Quality Assurance Center for their efforts during the past period to obtain program and institutional accreditation within the faculties of Menoufia University. Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of the University, indicated that the meeting discussed the status of the faculties and programs that had already applied in August and September according to the amended 2022 standards and according to the conditions of the Authority, as well as discussing the requirements for the remaining faculties and programs to apply for accreditation and removing any obstacles in this regard in preparation for applying for university accreditation according to the amended 2017 standards. As well as discussing the importance of the Authority's training courses and the possibility of implementing them in the Quality Assurance Center, stressing the importance of the Quality Assurance Center's training courses, spreading the culture of quality at the university, and creating a broad base of faculty members and auxiliary staff familiar with accreditation standards and requirements, and working to increase the number of reviewers from the university to the Quality Assurance and Accreditation Authority.
The university president called for more follow-up of the colleges that have obtained accreditation on a regular basis and follow-up of the work of the files according to the quality and accreditation standards and studying the planning standards for higher education institutions and the methodology for developing the strategic plan and the stages of preparation to set goals and objectives and achieve what the university aspires to.
He also stressed how to develop an executive plan to achieve the strategic goals and set achievement indicators and how to follow up on the implementation of that plan and ways to transform the strategic goals and objectives into activities to qualify approximately 60% of the university's colleges and programs to obtain institutional accreditation next July 2025.
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased also called on the colleges that have obtained accreditation and the colleges that are preparing files for application for programmatic and institutional accreditation to set timetables to complete the application of the criteria for applying for institutional accreditation during the current academic year.
El-Kased said that the university will provide the necessary support to all colleges to submit institutional accreditation files to the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation so that Menoufia University can obtain governmental institutional accreditation by the next academic year 2025, which contributes to a qualitative transfer of Menoufia University on the map of higher education locally and internationally.
The envoy explained that the university pays great attention to increasing the dissemination of continuous awareness of quality standards and the quality of education in order to achieve noticeable development and improvement in the educational process by continuously developing curricula and developing the capabilities of faculty members and assistants, stressing that the Quality Assurance Center will hold a monthly meeting to follow up on the implementation and submission of programmatic and institutional accreditation files in the university's colleges. It is noteworthy that a number of the university's colleges have obtained institutional accreditation, namely the College of Medicine, Nursing, Special Education, and Home Economics, and the accreditation of 7 educational programs in the College of Agriculture and Arts. The College of Pharmacy recently obtained institutional accreditation at the level of Egyptian universities last July.
