Dr. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, held the monthly meeting of the Central Library and University Libraries Committees, with the participation of the committee members online via electronic meeting platforms.
At the beginning of the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Kased welcomed the committee members and congratulated Dr. Zainab Abdel Khaleq on the issuance of the university president's decision to appoint her as Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Research
The university president explained that during the meeting, the activities and events carried out by the libraries of the university's colleges and institutes during the month of October were reviewed, and the decisions that were implemented were followed up and the agenda of the two sessions were discussed.
"El-Kased" indicated that the topics related to the work of the General Administration of University Libraries, the Central Library, Digital, Audio-Visual, and the work that was accomplished in terms of inventorying libraries and adding new books, periodicals, and encyclopedias that were purchased or donated to some college libraries were discussed. The university president also directed to develop a vision for purchasing new books for libraries for the new academic year in light of the budget allocated to each college.
In addition to following up on the services provided by the digital library to researchers from faculty members, assistant staff and graduate students. The Council was also informed of holding 3 workshops for library workers and visitors, including a workshop on the services of the Knowledge Bank and registration on it, a workshop on the services of the Central Library entitled "Know Your Library" and a workshop on augmented reality. In addition to linking 184 master's and doctoral theses to the FLS website, pasting their barcodes, shelving them and making them available for use by beneficiaries.
