Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, announced that Menoufia University has been included in the first edition of the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Rankings among 27 Egyptian universities, where Menoufia University came in the (351-400) position worldwide, as the first edition of the ranking included 749 universities from 92 countries, and the selection focused on conducting research among the disciplines (computer science, engineering, life sciences, and physical sciences), according to the Times Higher Education Sciences rankings, which number 11 diverse disciplines.
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased praised the remarkable progress achieved by Menoufia University in all international classifications within the framework of the university's vision and plan that is consistent with the political leadership's orientations and Egypt's Vision 2030 for developing higher education and interest in advancing the ranking of universities and research institutions in international classifications in all disciplines, as the university provides all the capabilities and necessary support to encourage scientific research that serves the goals of sustainable development, encourage international partnerships and open more avenues of cooperation with researchers from all countries of the world, and direct researchers to benefit from the services provided by the Egyptian Knowledge Bank, which participates in providing comprehensive training programs to train faculty members and researchers at Egyptian universities and research centers, which contributed in cooperation with the Knowledge E Foundation in enabling participants to integrate and teach research skills in interdisciplinary fields and apply multidisciplinary teaching and learning models in their universities, in addition to the bank's role in providing a huge amount of scientific resources necessary for Egyptian researchers and scientists. It is worth noting that the results of the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Ranking showed that the ISR Interdisciplinary Ranking methodology consists of three pillars, each of which represents a stage in the life cycle of research collaboration in joint projects and research. The pillars are divided into 11 indicators to measure different aspects of research integration between disciplines, namely: (inputs, which weigh 19% of the total weight, process, which weighs 16% of the total weight, and outputs, which weighs 65% of the total weight). "Inputs" measure the amount of research funding from research bodies and industry for research of an interdisciplinary nature, "process" measures the infrastructure, indicators of success and internal support provided by universities and recognition of advancement in interdisciplinary disciplines, while measuring "outputs" depends on research production in the aforementioned disciplines in terms of number and citations, and measuring the reputation of universities in conducting interdisciplinary sciences through the Times Higher Education Foundation survey.
