Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, met with the heads of scientific departments and faculty members at the National Liver Institute in the presence of the university's vice presidents, Dr. Sobhi Sharaf for Community Service and Environmental Development and Dr. Nasser Abdel-Bari for Education and Students, Dr. Ekramy Gamal, Secretary-General of the University, Dr. Osama Hegazy, Dean of the Institute, Dr. Hani Abdel-Majeed, Vice-Dean of the Institute for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Iman Abdel-Samee, Vice-Dean of the Institute for Postgraduate Studies and Research, and Dr. Ahmed Attia, Executive Director of the Hospital, during his inspection visit to the institute.
The university president began the meeting by congratulating all the institute's students and staff on the occasion of the National Liver Institute obtaining institutional accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, and the National Liver Institute Hospital obtaining accreditation from the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Supervision (GAHAR), expressing his happiness at achieving this great achievement to be added to the successes of the National Liver Institute, a bright spot on the list of the medical sector, institutes and medical centers specialized in treating liver diseases and liver transplantation at the local and international levels, pointing out that the Liver Hospital is the first among university hospitals to obtain accreditation from the General Authority for Accreditation and Health Supervision (GAHAR) within the framework of Menoufia University's plan to obtain accreditation for all university hospitals, and its constant endeavor to achieve this important step to qualify university hospitals to participate effectively in the comprehensive health insurance system in implementation of the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and his support for the development of medical facilities and the application of quality standards to increase their competitiveness at the local and international levels and achieve the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030. The university president thanked all those who contributed to achieving this accomplishment, appreciating all the efforts made to obtain accreditation, especially since the institute includes a distinguished elite of doctors specialized in liver treatment, surgeries, and transplantation and all specialties related to liver diseases, in addition to the latest diagnostic and radiology devices and its capacity to accommodate the number of daily visitors to the institute, which contributed to the hospital obtaining accreditation, adding that the academic role of the institute and granting scientific degrees in the specialties of liver and digestive system diseases is no less important than the role of the hospital, pointing to the importance of developing scientific research that aims to provide the latest treatment methods, and in view of the importance of this academic role, the university president confirmed that the door will be opened for training at the institute for students of the faculties of medicine and nursing from Menoufia University and Menoufia Private University, and to benefit from the institute's capabilities, whether at the level of facilities, laboratories and classrooms, or at the level of educational aspects and benefit from the expertise of faculty members at the institute. At the end of the meeting, Dr. Osama Hegazy, Dean of the National Liver Institute, thanked the President of the University for his continuous support for all the needs of the Institute, and his efforts to help the Institute obtain accreditation. He presented a commemorative shield to the President of the University, the Vice Presidents of the University, and the Secretary-General of the University. He also presented a commemorative shield to Dr. Hazem Saleh, former Vice President of the University for Postgraduate Studies and Research, for his efforts and cooperation in achieving this important step in the history of the Institute.
