Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, held the periodic meeting of the University Council in the presence of the council members, Dr. Ahmed Zaki Badr, former Minister of Local Development and a member of the council from abroad, and the university’s vice presidents, Dr. Sobhi Sharaf for Community Service and Environmental Development, Dr. Nasser Abdel-Bari for Education and Students, Dr. Ikrami Gamal, Secretary General of the University, and the deans of the faculties.

The envoy began the session by congratulating all the university’s students and staff on the occasion of the university’s progress in the Shanghai Ranking of Academic Subjects for 2024 in the fields of Agriculture Science, where the university came in the 301-400 category, and Mathematics, where the university came in the 401-500 group. The university also obtained the 16th place among Egyptian universities in the Adscientificindex classification for the scientific production of university scientists, and the appearance of 1277 scientists from Menoufia University in the classification, as the classification showed the presence of 12 scientists among the top 10%, 101 among the top 30%, 308 among the top 50%, and 683 among the top 70% worldwide. In addition, Menoufia University was included among 27 Egyptian universities in the first edition of the Times Higher Education Interdisciplinary Classification and among 749 universities from 92 countries worldwide, where Menoufia University came in the (351-400) place worldwide. He expressed his His happiness with the advanced level achieved by the university in international classifications.
The university president also congratulated the internal and external radiotherapy units in the Department of Oncology and Nuclear Medicine at the Cancer Institute on the occasion of obtaining a license from the Nuclear and Radiological Regulatory Authority.
The university president discussed the executive steps that must be followed for the university to apply for institutional accreditation from the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education, and the importance of starting to take the necessary steps to achieve this goal and forming an integrated group of teams to prepare the university's file and implement the ten standards to obtain institutional accreditation. He also reviewed the report submitted by Dr. Wafaa Zahran, Director of the Quality Assurance Center at the university, on the performance of all faculties, faculties that recently obtained accreditation, faculties that obtained re-accreditation, and faculties that did not apply for accreditation, and discussed what each faculty needs to apply for accreditation, and the importance of developing a plan to increase institutional capacity in faculties that have not yet been accredited, and restructuring all activities according to the new standards of the authority, noting that he had previously announced that this academic year is the year of quality at Menoufia University until institutional accreditation is achieved for the university.
The university president confirmed that he follows up on the progress of the student union elections at Menoufia University and Menoufia Private University on a daily basis, praising the extent of students’ turnout to participate in the elections and represent their colleges in an honorable manner, the regularity of the electoral committees, and helping students to learn about the principles of democratic political life. The university student union elections are also one of the most important legitimate and organized paths for students to express their opinions, needs, and problems in the name of the students they represent, as they are the link between the students and the university’s senior management. During the session, the university president praised the graduation projects of the fourth-year students of the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering, which were reviewed during the meeting of the University Facilities Committee, and which were concerned with designing expansions for Menoufia University in Sadat City. He praised the ideas presented by the students, especially since they provide proposals for establishing flexible buildings that can be modified according to future needs, educational spaces that support virtual reality technologies, and designing applied research facilities such as workshops and advanced testing laboratories, in addition to the possibility of covering the facades of buildings with solar panels and green spaces around the university campus to enhance environmental sustainability, and designing student housing, sports fields and halls equipped for student activities. He thanked all supervisors and students for this honorable effort, which reflects the excellence of Menoufia University students, stressing the importance of exploiting the capabilities, talents and abilities of students to serve the university’s goals and implement its strategic plan. The university president reviewed the most important activities that took place during this month, including: an inspection visit to the Oncology Institute to follow up on the preparations that have been made and the regularity of work at the institute, an inspection visit to the Oncology Hospital at the university hospitals, to follow up on patients’ cases and ensure that all necessary needs are provided to them, and to inspect the oncology patients’ lounge that was recently equipped to provide comfort to patients during the waiting period. The land allocated for the establishment of the medical city was also inspected, and an inspection tour of the university hospitals was conducted to follow up on the necessary preparations for the opening of the outpatient clinic building soon, and to participate in the activities of the celebration of the 75th anniversary of the Educational and Cultural Exchange Authority between the Arab Republic of Egypt and the United States of America “Fulbright” and to participate in the activities of the opening of the “From the Lab to the Market” symposium organized by the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research and the Fulbright Commission on the occasion of the celebration in the presence of Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development, Minister of Health and Population, Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ambassador Hiro Mustafa, Ambassador of the United States of America to Cairo, and Dr. Maggie Nassif, Executive Director of the Fulbright Commission. The envoy praised the activities of the third employment forum organized by the College of Pharmacy under the supervision of Dr. Haitham Maimoun, Dean of the College.

The exhibition held on the sidelines of the forum's activities and reviewing the offers of the sponsoring companies in the presence of Dr. Mustafa Salam, the head of the Pharmacists Syndicate in Menoufia and members of the Syndicate Council, stressing the importance of organizing annual employment forums to find suitable job opportunities for graduates, and a good way to achieve direct communication between companies and workers in various fields of pharmacy and college students to provide them with various skills and introduce them to the opportunities available to them to work after graduation. Dr. Sobhi Sharaf presented the topics of the community service and environmental development sector, most notably the annual conference organized by the sector on Wednesday, December 4, entitled: Social Responsibility of Universities in Light of the National Strategy for Higher Education "Future Horizons and Visions", which aims to identify the philosophy and dimensions of social responsibility, identify the best practices to enhance social responsibility in universities, highlight the role of the university as a driver of sustainable development and citizenship, measure its impact on higher education on students and communities, in addition to identifying the expected and achieved benefits from it, and enhancing aspects of local and international cooperation and partnerships between universities. The university president invited all members to participate in the conference activities. Dr. Nasser Abdel Bari also presented the topics of the Education and Student Affairs Sector and explained that based on the university's keenness to provide advice and assistance and to familiarize the university student with the systems and regulations governing the educational process within the college, as it is considered one of the means that help him pass the years of study without problems or obstacles. Hence, the importance of academic guidance in activating the relationship between the student and the faculty members at the college is highlighted through a system that familiarizes the student with the college and its educational systems and the fields and opportunities it provides to help students choose the specializations that suit their abilities and capabilities and match their inclinations and desires, as well as helping them to proceed in their studies in the best way. Therefore, the Education and Student Affairs Council submitted a request to form an academic guidance committee for Menoufia University to prepare a guide for academic guidance for the university, follow up on the formation of academic guidance units and activate their role in the colleges, and emphasize that guidance is not only academic, but attention must be paid to psychological and societal guidance, and emphasize the role of electronic guidance and keeping pace with technological development, and pay attention to academic guidance and guidance for incoming students. The committee is headed by Dr. Nasser Abdel Bari, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and includes: Its membership includes the deans of the following faculties: Early Childhood Education, Home Economics, Science, Engineering, Pharmacy, Special Education, Dentistry, Agriculture, Nursing, and the Director General of Education and Student Affairs at the university. The council approved the formation of the committee. The deans were also briefed on the results of the Egyptian survey on student participation in Egyptian universities and the percentage of participation of Menoufia University students in the survey, directing the importance of motivating students to participate in filling out the survey on the level of student satisfaction at the university in its second version starting from December 1, 2024 until the end of June 2025.
