Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, held a meeting with the head of the department and professors of oncology to discuss the most important work files in the next phase, in the presence of Dr. Nasser Abdel-Bari, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, Counselor Omar Turki, Legal Advisor to the President of the University, Dr. Ahmed. Sabry Al-Gamal, Deputy Executive Director of University Hospitals, and Dr. Iman Abdel-Razzaq, Head of the Oncology Department.
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased pointed out the need to give top priority to the file of serving patients visiting the hospitals affiliated with the institute, which contributes to improving the medical services provided to patients, raising the level of health care they receive to be at the highest degree of efficiency and medical professionalism, reducing waiting lists, and expanding the scope of services to enable more patients to obtain the necessary treatment and care, in addition to providing a distinguished level of integrated medical care in all areas of oncology within an integrated educational and research environment.
During the meeting, Dr. Ahmed El-Kased reviewed with the oncology professors the latest developments in the oncology hospital, which include developing the infrastructure and medical facilities, increasing outpatient clinics, establishing rest areas for patients, doubling the number of radiotherapy devices and chemotherapy beds, and the medical and other equipment required by the institute to improve the medical service during the next stage. Dr. Ahmed El-Kased stressed the need for the new building of the institute to be at the highest level according to international specifications and patients' needs, noting that the project will be assigned to a specialized company to design it on an area of approximately 2100 meters, pointing out the need for the building to be integrated and equipped with the latest medical and technical devices, in addition to rehabilitating the old building, explaining that the establishment of the institute requires the combined efforts of all the university, society and businessmen to establish a medical edifice capable of providing distinguished therapeutic, diagnostic and research services to cancer patients in the governorate and neighboring governorates in accordance with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Egypt's Vision 2030.
The university president added that the meeting discussed the work mechanisms in the institute, stressing the need to work in a team spirit to provide high-quality medical services to patients and to take into account the public interest when transferring or delegating faculty members and specialized assistants from the Faculty of Medicine to work in it.
The university president also pointed out that the next stage requires preparing trained human cadres of doctors and health service providers in preparation for joining the comprehensive health insurance system and working in this new medical facility, which will represent a new and distinctive addition to the medical facilities of the university and the governorate.
