Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, witnessed the session of the Planning and Budget Committee of the House of Representatives, headed by Dr. Fakhry Al-Faqih, Chairman of the Committee, to follow up on the implementation of the recommendations issued by the Planning and Budget Committee in the draft state general budget for the fiscal year 2024/2025, in the presence of delegates from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development and Higher Education and Scientific Research, and the President of the University was accompanied by Dr. Mohamed Sabry, Executive Director of University Hospitals, and Ayman Badr, Director General of Strategy at the University.
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, expressed his sincere thanks and appreciation to the work of the Planning and Budget Committee of the House of Representatives, reviewing Menoufia University's investment plan and its future vision that is in line with Egypt's Vision 2030, which is represented in improving the use of facilities and optimal utilization of them and all university facilities, by investing in unused spaces and developing the infrastructure to enhance the quality of services provided, in addition to developing research centers and scientific laboratories that contribute to supporting innovation with the aim of expanding academic and training activities. Menoufia University's investment plan is also considered an important step towards sustaining academic and research growth, and optimally utilizing university facilities to provide an advanced educational environment and financial resources that support the achievement of its future vision.
El-Kased stated that the session witnessed several important discussions that resulted in consensus, agreement and commitment from the Ministry of Planning and Economic Development on the recommendations previously issued by the Planning and Budget Committee to include the Specialized Surgery Hospital project and the project to build a fence around the area allocated for the expansion of Menoufia University in Sadat City, which amounts to 200 acres, in the university's investment plan.
The university president expressed his happiness with the inclusion of the Specialized Surgery Hospital project and the medical centers it will include in various specialties at the university, which comes in line with the directives of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, and his ambitious plan to develop the medical and therapeutic system, which is based on achieving a qualitative leap in the health care sector, reflecting the great interest in improving the quality of health services and providing medical care to citizens at a high level of efficiency, stressing that the development of Menoufia University hospitals is an important strategic step that contributes greatly to strengthening the university's position at the level of medical education and research in Egypt. The importance of this project also lies in improving the quality of education and training, as the hospital provides a practical educational environment for students from the Faculty of Medicine, enabling them to acquire the necessary practical skills and experiences in the fields of specialization, and its important role in promoting medical scientific research, and providing specialized medical services to the public, which contributes to reducing pressure on government and private hospitals, and enhances the university's ability to provide advanced medical services to the community, while supporting its financial resources and enhancing its academic reputation.
