The university president expressed his happiness with the issuance of the decision of Dr. Saleh Al-Sheikh, head of the Central Agency for Organization and Administration, to approve the organizational structure of the Oncology Institute, which is the first phase of the Medical City project, which the Prime Minister issued a decision to add to the university's colleges and institutes. It is a therapeutic, educational, and research institute, with an attached hospital for oncology treatment, which is an important strategic step towards improving specialized health care and developing scientific research in the field of oncology, including departments that work in integration to serve and treat cancer patients, and aims to increase the capacity of the Oncology Hospital, in addition to the educational research service to grant various scientific degrees in oncology specialties according to international quality standards, noting that the Oncology Institute is an essential part of the university's new strategic plan in line with Egypt's Vision 2030 and the political leadership's directives to develop the medical and therapeutic system and the comprehensive health insurance system.

The President of the University thanked Dr. Hossam El-Fall, Dean of the Oncology Institute, for his efforts in this regard, and thanked all those who contributed to the establishment of the institute and its comprehensive equipment to provide the necessary treatment services for cancer patients. It is worth noting that the aim of the institute's expansion is to increase the bed capacity with a capacity of (400) internal beds, (40) intensive care beds, (40) intermediate care beds, (6) tumor surgery operating rooms, 100 chairs to receive chemotherapy doses and 3 radiotherapy stations, in order to accommodate the largest number of patients from the governorate and neighboring governorates, and all medical services that will be provided within the university's Oncology Institute will be done with the latest devices and modern technologies in tumor treatment.
