Menoufia University organizes two medical and veterinary convoys in the villages of Ashlim in Quesna and Ezbet Ratib in Toukh Tanbesha

Under the auspices of Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the university organized free medical and veterinary convoys in the villages of Ashlim in Quesna  and Ezbet Ratib in Toukh Tanbesha under the supervision of Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Department and the Equal Opportunities and Population and Child Protection Units, the Decent Life Foundation, the Menoufia Health Directorate, the Menoufia Drinking Water and Sanitation Company, and with the participation of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine at Menoufia Private University, the Menoufia Veterinary Medicine Directorate, the Berket El-Sabaa Center Administration, the veterinarians in the unit, and the Menoufia Veterinary Syndicate.

Dr. Ahmed El-Kased stressed that Menoufia University is keen to contribute to the implementation of the state's development plans and the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, pointing out that the university continues to launch more convoys to the most needy villages in the governorate within the framework of the presidential initiatives (Decent Life), the (Beginning) initiative to achieve the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030, and to ease the burden on the citizen and raise the standard of living of the Egyptian family and develop livestock, adding that the university provides comprehensive and integrated health care and works to develop livestock in villages and provide the necessary awareness to increase productivity and support the national economy, adding that the medical convoy included distinguished medical cadres from faculty members from the Faculties of Medicine and Veterinary Medicine, and students of the two faculties. Dr. Sobhi Sharaf pointed out that the community service sector that the university pays great attention to providing more care and attention to the priority groups in society, and positive participation in promoting health, social and environmental development, and providing medical and awareness services to citizens in various fields in the most needy areas and villages within the governorate, which contributes to supporting the societal and developmental service role of the university and its responsibilities towards society in its various sectors.

The medical convoy examined a large number of medical cases, reaching 579 cases, including 85 skin cases, 98 internal medicine, 96 children, 75 ophthalmology, 77 chest, 93 bones, in addition to transferring cases that need special medical care to the university hospital.

The veterinary convoy examined a large and diverse number of livestock in the village, and the number of beneficiaries reached 900 cases, including 800 birds. The internal examination of 40 cases was done, and an ultrasound was performed on 50 animal cases, diagnosing and treating them, dispensing the necessary medications and vaccinations, and spraying the animals against external parasites that cause diseases for free.

The convoys were supervised by Dr. Mohamed El-Nomani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Dr. Ahmed El-Fayoumi, Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Dr. Atef Abdel-Jalil, Director of the Veterinary Medicine Program at Menoufia Private University, and Dr. Haitham Maimoun, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy.

The convoy was attended by Dr. Rania Azmy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and Dr. Sayed Jalila, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine for Education and Student Affairs, Dr. Eman Baza, Vice Dean of the Faculty for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Osama Abdullah, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health, and Dr. Eman Zahran, Director of the Primary Care Department at the Directorate. Dr. Mohamed El Shatby, Director of the Scientific Center at the General Syndicate of Veterinarians in Cairo and a researcher at the Animal Health Research Institute in Kafr El Sheikh, Dr. Rafat Hammad, Director of the Veterinary Medicine Directorate, and Dr. Sabry El Fakharany, Director of the Care and Treatment Department at the Directorate, with the participation of a large number of students in order to provide them with skills and practical training in order to achieve the mission of the two colleges.
