President of Menoufia University thanks the governor for his participation in laying the foundation stone for the expansion of the Oncology Institute and the Specialized Surgery Hospital and opening outpatient clinics in university hospitals

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, visited the General Diwan of the Governorate to meet Major General Ibrahim Abu laimon, Governor of Menoufia, in the presence of Professor Mohamed Moussa, Deputy Governor, Vice Presidents of the University, Prof. Sobhi Sharaf for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Nasser Abdel Bari for Education and Student Affairs, Prof. Ekramy Gamal, Secretary General of the University, Dr. Ghada Ali, Coordinator of the International Relations Office, Dr. Mohamed Lotfy, Coordinator of Expatriates at the University, and students from the Faculty of Specific Education.

The university president began the meeting by thanking the governor for his active participation in the visit of the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research to Menoufia University and Menoufia Private University, and his participation in laying the foundation stone for the expansion of the Oncology Institute, a project that represents a strategic step towards improving oncology treatment, and the Specialized Surgery Hospital, which aims to provide specialized medical services in all surgical fields, and the opening of outpatient clinics for the University Hospital in Menoufia, and the opening of outpatient clinics at the Faculty of Dentistry, within the framework of supporting presidential initiatives aimed at improving health care for citizens, providing an advanced training environment for students of the Faculty of Medicine, enhancing medical scientific research, improving the quality of health care, contributing to alleviating pressure on government and private hospitals, and raising the level of medical services provided to citizens, stressing the university's great interest in supporting the medical sector and developing the health and treatment services provided by the university; with the aim of providing a decent health service to the people of Menoufia Governorate and neighboring governorates. Major General Ibrahim Abu laimon expressed his happiness with the extent of fruitful and constructive cooperation between the governorate and the university, the extent of development witnessed by the university, and the number of projects that the university aims to establish in implementation of Egypt's Vision 2030 and the political leadership's directives to achieve sustainable development goals, stressing the importance of the university's role as a strategic partner in achieving local development goals, noting that cooperation with the university contributes to improving the quality of services provided to citizens, and supporting economic and social development plans.

The meeting also discussed ways to strengthen cooperation between academic institutions and government agencies, as the two parties exchanged talk about ways to enhance the strategic partnership between the university and the governorate to serve the community and achieve sustainable development, ways to activate the university's role in supporting local development plans, and ways to enhance cooperation in educational and research fields, including providing training opportunities for university students in the governorate's departments, and providing training programs for governorate employees to raise their efficiency.

The importance of organizing joint initiatives between the university and the governorate in the social and environmental fields was also discussed, such as health awareness campaigns, supporting the most needy groups, and environmental conservation projects.

The meeting was attended by a student from the Faculty of Specific Education, Department of Art Education, who drew a portrait of the governor in appreciation of his efforts and continuous support for the university. He was keen to present a souvenir gift to the governor, and the governor honored the student and the coordinator of the International Relations Office as an expression of his thanks with this gift.
