Menoufia University Makes New Global Progress in the 2025 Edition of the University Rankings by Academic Performance

Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, announced that the university has made new progress globally in the 2025 Edition of the University Rankings by Academic Performance. Menoufia University ranked 793rd out of 3,000 universities worldwide, advancing 11 places from last year's rankings. Locally, it ranked 11th out of 37 public and private universities in the 2024-2025 Edition of the University Rankings by Academic Performance (URAP).

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased praised the achievement and the university's advanced ranking in the global rankings, emphasizing that the university has achieved prestigious positions in all international rankings, placing at the forefront of Egyptian universities and among the best universities in the world, surpassing a large number of prestigious universities locally and internationally.

The university president indicated that this ranking aims to develop a global university ranking system based on academic performance indicators that reflect the quality and quantity of scientific publications, as well as to identify potential areas for progress in these academic performance indicators.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased added that this progress reflects the university's efforts and ambitious plans to advance the educational and research process, expand international cooperation, increase publication rates in prestigious academic and scientific journals and periodicals, and encourage outstanding scientific research that serves scientific research and society, contributes to its development, and is consistent with Egypt's Vision 2030 for sustainable development, which includes supporting scientific research and linking it to education, development, and industry. He expressed his happiness with this achievement and congratulated all university staff, wishing the university further progress and advancement.

Prof. Hatem Sayed Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Computers and Information and Supervisor of the University's Information Center, explained: The UARP ranking relies on several indicators to measure academic performance, including the number of citations to university faculty published in the WOS database, the impact factor of these articles, and the volume of international research participation.

He added that the ranking is based on six indicators of academic performance, with scientific production forming the basis of the ranking methodology. The quality and number of scientific productions, citations, and international research collaboration performance are all used as indicators.
