Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, honored the Faculty of Engineering (MRT) Team, winner of the Shell Eco Electric Car Marathon Competition in Qatar. The team achieved seventh place among the participating teams. The competition featured 134 competing teams from all over the world, 90 of whom qualified after technical examination. The number of participants reached over 900.
The ceremony was attended by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service Affairs; Prof. Nasser Abdelbary, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Mohamed Saafan, Dean of the Faculty of Engineering; and Dr. Tamer Kawady, team supervisor.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased congratulated the students representing the university team for winning the competition and outperforming the Egyptian and Arab teams participating in the marathon, as well as several international teams. The car they drove passed the eleven technical inspection requirements to ensure it met the necessary conditions for participation, durability, and insurance. He expressed his hope that these innovations would become the nucleus of applied projects that serve the community.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased emphasized that participation in this competition affirms Menoufia University's commitment to supporting scientific research and innovation, and its commitment to preparing its students to meet global challenges, contributing to developing their skills and enhancing their capabilities in the field of sustainable energy. He noted that the university is keen to encourage students to participate in local and international competitions and events, motivating them to present their ideas and projects on a wider scale, and supporting them to develop innovative applications, websites, and technological solutions. This is in addition to motivating students to find innovative solutions to various challenges using technology. The university is also keen to build partnerships with private sector companies and institutions to provide training and funding opportunities for students to develop their research and find opportunities for its implementation.
For his part, the team expressed its gratitude to Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of the University, for his honoring and support of the team and scientific research at the university.
