Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the Department of Families and Student Unions at the General Administration of Student Care at the University and the Menoufia University Student Union, in cooperation with Al-Hikma Hospital for Psychiatry and Addiction Treatment, organized Mental Health Week for students across the university's various faculties. The event was supervised by Prof. Nasser Abdel Bary, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased emphasized that Menoufia University is committed to providing all forms of support and psychological and health care to students, training them to cope with psychological crises, and holding numerous awareness seminars across all faculties. He noted the university's commitment to establishing a specialized unit for psychological counseling for university students to provide psychological support and foster a positive academic environment for them.
The University President also called on all student care officials in the various faculties to highlight the positive aspects of students' personalities and raise their awareness of the importance of psychological development and confronting the dangers of addiction. He also urged students to develop greater positive awareness and enhance their personal and educational skills.
Prof. Nasser Abdel Bary, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs, also highlighted the university's commitment to developing students' skills and increasing their awareness of different constructive and conscious personality types. He emphasized the university's commitment to holding interactive workshops and seminars throughout the week, providing students with psychological and moral guidance that strengthens their character and their resolve to confront the dangers of addiction, drug abuse, and moral deviance. He also emphasized psychological support and assistance in resolving any problems they may encounter during their studies, highlighting their best technical, educational, and scientific skills, and promoting fruitful interactive activities among students.
Participating in the week's activities were Prof. Mohamed Zidan, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education; Prof. Ihab Al-Naasan, Dean of the Faculty of Home Economics; Prof. Rania Azmy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development; Dr. Nourhan Kamal, Director of the Hikma Center for Psychiatry and Marital Counseling; Prof. Jihan Sweid, Professor of Educational and Psychological Sciences; heads of the university's psychological counseling units; student welfare departments at the colleges; and Students for Egypt.
