Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, received this morning the delegation of the National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education (NAQAAE), ahead of their on-site visit to renew the institutional and program accreditation of the Faculty of Specific Education, as well as to conduct the first evaluation for institutional and program accreditation files of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology. This visit coincides with the university’s 2026 slogan: “The Year of Quality and Excellence.”

The meeting was attended by Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Mohamed Zidan, Dean of the Faculty of Specific Education; Prof. Yasser Ramah, Dean of the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology; Dr. Wafaa Zahran, Director of the University Quality Assurance Center; and the NAQAAE delegation headed by Prof. Sherif El-Shorbagy and Prof. Yasser El-Wazir.

During the meeting, Prof. Ahmed El-Kased affirmed that the university places institutional quality and accreditation at the top of its priorities to develop its educational and infrastructural systems. He noted that such visits represent the culmination of the university’s continuous efforts to advance its academic and research systems across all theoretical and practical faculties, thereby enhancing Menoufia University’s national and international rankings.

He emphasized that the goal is not merely to obtain accreditation certificates, but to institutionalize a culture of quality across all academic and administrative practices, in alignment with Egypt Vision 2030 and the aspirations of the New Republic toward further advancement in all sectors, particularly the continuous development of higher education locally and internationally.

The President added that the successful accreditation of both the Faculty of Specific Education and the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology would represent a significant milestone within the university’s Golden Jubilee celebrations, marking fifty years of achievements of this distinguished academic institution in Egypt and abroad. He noted that both faculties have achieved compliance rates exceeding 90% of the required accreditation standards, reflecting the substantial efforts of faculty deans and quality assurance teams. He wished the visiting committees success in their three-day evaluation mission, after which a detailed report will be submitted to the national authority in preparation for the final accreditation decision.

Dr. Wafaa Zahran, Director of the University Quality Assurance Center, explained that the accreditation review process will include the evaluation of institutional accreditation renewal files, whose current validity expires next July, for an additional five-year period. It will also include the assessment of several specialized programs within the Educational Technology Department for programmatic accreditation. The visit further includes inspection of artistic exhibitions, production workshops, academic facilities, lecture halls, and computer laboratories, in addition to meetings with faculty members, administrative staff, students, and labor market representatives.

In a related context, the delegation will also evaluate the initial institutional and program accreditation standards at the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology. This represents a major step toward advancement and leadership for one of the university’s newest practical faculties. The review will cover specialized technological laboratories and their alignment with the latest medical technologies, the application of competency-based learning standards, and the adequacy of human and material resources to achieve the program’s objectives, particularly within the Biomedical Equipment Technology Department, which plays a key role in advancing medical applications and improving healthcare quality.

For their part, the accreditation delegation expressed their satisfaction with the high level of readiness demonstrated by the Faculty of Specific Education for accreditation renewal, as well as the Faculty of Applied Health Sciences Technology’s preparedness for institutional and program accreditation. They praised the university’s commitment to enhancing educational and research environments in line with accreditation standards.

The delegation also highlighted Menoufia University’s leading role and continuous support in creating an academic environment capable of successfully meeting institutional and program accreditation requirements.

The delegation was received by Dr. Alaa El-Beltagy, Head of the Nutrition Science Department at the Faculty of Agriculture; Dr. Zainab Abdel-Khaleq, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Engineering for Graduate Studies and Research and Deputy Director of the Quality Assurance Center; faculty members serving as academic reviewers; and Ms. Asmaa Refaat, Administrative Director of the University Quality Assurance Center.
