Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, received Prof. Osama Al-Azhari, Minister of Awqaf, prior to the start of his lecture as part of the seminar titled “Moderate Values and National Belonging among University Youth.” The seminar aims to consolidate sound concepts and develop students’ awareness in addressing contemporary intellectual challenges.
The event was attended by Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Ghada Ali Hassan, Vice President for Postgraduate Studies and Research; Prof. Mohamed Abdel-Rahim, Dean of the Faculty of Fundamentals of Religion in Zagazig; and Sheikh Moawad Khattab, Director of the Awqaf Directorate in Menoufia.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased welcomed the Minister of Awqaf at the university, affirming that Menoufia University is keen on organizing such awareness-raising seminars that contribute to building well-rounded student personalities. He emphasized the importance of promoting moderation, centrist thinking, and strengthening national belonging among students, in a way that supports societal stability and protects young people from extremist ideologies. He also noted that cooperation with the Ministry of Awqaf comes within the university’s societal and educational role.
The Minister of Awqaf expressed his appreciation for Menoufia University and its pioneering role in combining academic excellence with the development of students’ national awareness. He praised its commitment to organizing meaningful intellectual events that help reinforce values of moderation and balance.
He further stated that the university represents a distinguished model of educational institutions that recognize their responsibility in preparing a conscious and enlightened generation capable of confronting intellectual and societal challenges and actively contributing to building the New Republic.
