Under the patronage of Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, the Faculty of Media at the university achieved first place at the 10th El Shorouk International Festival for Media Creativity, for an outstanding media report on the Bibliotheca Alexandrina. The competition witnessed strong participation from 32 universities and international academies.
The achievement came under the supervision of Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Acting Vice President for Education and Student Affairs and Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and Prof. Nedia El-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty.
The University President extended his congratulations to the participating students, affirming that this achievement reflects the high academic standards and creative capabilities of Menoufia University students across various disciplines. He stressed that the university is always keen to support student talents and provide educational and knowledge-enhancing opportunities to foster innovation.
He also noted that this recognition represents a source of pride for the university’s higher education system at international forums, especially in light of the integration of digital technologies with students’ artistic talents.
Prof. El-Kased further praised the Faculty of Media for linking academic disciplines with digital media technologies, emphasizing that students’ participation in international media competitions serves as a strategic platform for refining their professional skills, building local and global networks, and enhancing their competitiveness in the job market. This, he added, opens promising opportunities in major media institutions.
The Vice President for Education and Student Affairs encouraged students to showcase their individual talents through participation in various competitions, which allow them to apply their skills in real-life contexts beyond traditional academic examinations. He highlighted that the university enables students to join numerous local and international competitions that develop critical thinking, time management, and the ability to work under pressure, while also strengthening teamwork and achieving top rankings.
In the same context, Prof. Nedia El-Qadi, Dean of the Faculty, stated that winning first place among 238 submitted media works across various disciplines is a significant achievement for the faculty, particularly in one of the most prominent academic platforms aimed at discovering young media talents in Egypt and the Arab world. She added that the competition helps bridge academic study with labor market requirements and fosters innovation using the latest digital media technologies.
She also extended her gratitude to the University President and its leadership for their continuous support of students in various activities and competitions, praising the efforts of the faculty’s media supervision team led by Dr. Hoda El-Dar, Head of the Radio and Television Department, Dr. Walaa Fayez, and the supporting academic staff.
For their part, the winning team expressed their happiness with this achievement, affirming that securing first place reflects the university’s prestigious position in both national and international forums.
The team included: Mohamed Nasser (voice commentary and reporting), Ziad Mohamed, Alia Adel, Sara Omar (directing and screenplay), Rana Mostafa, Fatma Mohamed (editing), Rowaina Amgad, Ali Osama (cinematography), and Fatma Mohamed and Sara Omar (production and organization).
It is worth noting that the competition covers various fields of digital and traditional media, including audiovisual production (short films, documentaries, radio programs, podcasts, and animation), journalism (multimedia, print, and digital journalism), and public relations (media and advertising campaigns, digital marketing, and applications).
The festival was held at the Grand Theater of the International Higher Institute of Media at El Shorouk Academy, with the participation of a distinguished group of media professionals, academics, and industry experts to ensure professional evaluation of the submitted works.
