Appointment of Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased as a Member of the Ministerial Committee for Developing Medical Education and Training in the Health Sector Media Department 14/05/2026 The Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Prof.Ayman Ashour, issued a decision forming a specialized committee to develop a comprehensive vision for advancing medical education and training in the health sector across all stages. The committee is chaired by Prof. Ashraf Hatem, Head of the Medical Studies Sector Committee at the Supreme Council of Universities, and includes Prof. Ahmed Farag El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, among its members, in recognition of his distinguished academic standing, extensive expertise in developing educational and medical systems, and his active role in supporting national plans to enhance medical education and healthcare services. The committee also comprises a group of university presidents, experts, and specialists in the medical and health sectors. Prof. El-Kased stated that the committee is responsible for developing a comprehensive framework for improving medical education and training in the health sector at all stages, in line with global advancements and aimed at enhancing the quality of medical education outcomes. The committee will also prepare an implementation framework and a clear timeline for executing the proposed recommendations. He affirmed that this assignment reflects recognition of the continuous development witnessed by Menoufia University in the medical and educational sectors, including the expansion of academic programs and modern specializations, in addition to strengthening university hospitals and improving practical training and scientific research efficiency. He added that the committee is scheduled to submit a comprehensive report outlining its findings and recommendations to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research within three months from the date of issuance of the decision, including clear implementation mechanisms for developing medical education and training systems in Egypt. Prof. El-Kased expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation to the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research for this trust, affirming that joining the committee represents an important responsibility to support the state’s efforts in developing the medical education and training system. He stressed that this contributes to preparing qualified healthcare professionals capable of keeping pace with global scientific advancements and delivering high-quality healthcare services.
