Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, participated today in the periodic meeting of the Supreme Council of Universities headed by Dr. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, which was held today at the Mansoura University headquarters, in the presence of Dr. Reda Hegazy, Minister of Education and Technical Education, Dr. Mostafa Refaat, Secretary of the Council, and members of the Council.
The president of the university indicated that the Minister of Higher Education stressed during the meeting the importance of regional alliances, as three alliances have been signed so far, which are the northern region alliances, the central Upper Egypt region, and the southern Upper Egypt region, and the coming period will witness the signing of other alliances for the geographical regions of Egypt, given the importance of these Alliances in achieving linkage and integration between universities and research centers, and between industrial and agricultural agencies, employing scientific research to serve industry, and facing the various challenges faced by each geographical region; On the other hand, it will benefit the development of curricula, interdisciplinary programs and disciplines.
He also followed up the preparations of universities and institutes for the exams of the current second semester, and emphasized the implementation of the necessary controls to ensure the conduct of exams in a disciplined manner.
The council praised the achievements made in the field of scientific research, including Egypt’s attainment of the 24th place in the world, and the first place in Africa according to the SCImago index for scientific publishing, and the efforts made in this regard, including the technical support provided by the Ministry to universities, training in international publishing, and stimulating universities. For researchers to publish in international journals.
The Council also reviewed what is currently being done in implementation of the Cabinet’s decision approving the transfer of Egyptian students studying in Sudanese, Russian and Ukrainian universities to complete their studies in Egyptian universities. In the interest of their academic future, and cooperation between the Ministry and the concerned authorities in the country, to transfer students returning from Sudanese, Russian and Ukrainian universities to complete their studies in private and private universities.
During the meeting, a report was heard on the most prominent activities of the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research in May.
