For the first time, Menoufia University is in the Dutch international classification “Leiden” (CWTS Leiden U) for the year 2022

Dr. Adel Mubarak, President of Menoufia University, announced the entry of Menoufia University into the Dutch classification "CWTS Leiden University" issued on June 22, 2022,

Menoufia University ranked 25th in Africa and 1104 globally in the Dutch classification, which included 30,000 universities globally this year, including only 10 Egyptian universities.

The following areas have contributed to this:
Physical and engineering sciences
Medical and biological sciences
Mathematics and computer sciences

The last field is the most contributing to the occupation of Menoufia University in an advanced rank in the Dutch classification, where it ranked fourth in Africa and second locally, which is a new achievement added to the university and places it among the elite of international universities, as well as excellence in Egypt and Africa. This clearly illustrates the university’s strategy to enhance its international position from By supporting the scientific research system, and keeping pace with global progress in research and technology fields.

It is worth noting that the Dutch classification criteria depend on the global scientific publication classified in the Clarivate database, the quality of this research and reference to it, and the institutional and international cooperation to produce it.

The president of the university also explained that the Web of Science database, which is managed by the American publishing house Clarivate Analytics and published in the top 1%, 5%, 10%, and 50% of the list of international journals, and the university sets its sights in the coming period to raise the publishing rates in A category higher than 1% and 5%, as this has a significant impact on raising all ratings.
