Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, announced that the students of Menoufia University succeeded in liberating “6,656” male and female citizens from illiteracy in the January 2024 session through the classes they contracted with the administrations of the General Authority for Adult Education, bringing the total number of citizens who were liberated from illiteracy by Menoufia University students. From 2014 until now, 79,393 male and female citizens in various villages and centers in Menoufia Governorate and outside Menoufia Governorate.


Dr. Ahmed El-Kased added that Menoufia University ranked sixth among Egyptian universities in the January 2024 session.


The university president also praised this important achievement and the participation of Menoufia University students in the presidential initiative “Egypt Without Illiteracy” within the activities of the Decent Life Initiative, and the efforts of the Egyptian state under its political leadership to improve the level of all services provided to the villages most in need, and the emphasis on eradicating illiteracy because it represents a national issue that must be confronted. And eliminating them, within the framework of the university’s social and national responsibility towards the nation.


The University President thanked the Adult Education Center at the College of Education and all the colleges participating in the national project for eradicating illiteracy and adult education.


For his part, Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, explained that the university participated effectively in the Villages Without Illiteracy initiative, in addition to the participation of students in the integrated convoys organized by the university to the villages of the governorate, projects to eradicate the illiteracy of the people.
