Menofia University President Announces Its Upgrading on Times University Impact Ranking for Sustainable Development Goals

Prof. Ahmed Alkased, President of Menofia University, announced that the university is upgraded on Times University Impact Ranking for Sustainable Development Goals, as it came among the best 51 Egyptian universities for 2025 ranking, scoring 25th at the level of Egyptian universities, and 801-1000 at the level of international universities.

Prof. Alkased commended this progress, stressing that the university is taking confident steps towards academic, research, and regional and international leadership excellence, in line with Egypt's 2030 sustainable development vision. He asserted the university's keeness on achieving progress on all international ranking systems because of their importance in enhancing the university's international status.

Prof. Alkased congratulated all university affilliates for this new accomplishment, expressing his content with the university's progress on international rankings, and confirming the university's keeness on carrying out the political leadership mandates on upgrading Egptian universities and research institutes on international ranking systems; as well as implementing the international benchmarking principle which is one of the most important goals of the national strategy for higher education and scientific research.

Prof. Ahmed Alkased pointed out that these university achievements reflect its continuous commitment to United Nations' sustainable development goals, stressing the university's effective role in green transformation, utilizing clean energy, reducing emissions, and enhancing the quality of educational and healthcare services; in addition to its effective role in social and presidential initiatives.

Alkased added that the Times is one of the leading international ranking systems that measure universities' contributions in achieving international sustainable development goals. He pointed out that the university's accomplishments confirm its status as an educational institution that effectively contributes to building a sustainable future, enhancing social partnerships, and conserving the environment; in addition to placing the university on the road towards globalization and the implementation of international benchmarking in academic and research performance.

Prof. Hatem Sayed Ahmed, Dean of Faculty of Computers and Information and Supervisor of the Information Center, stated that this ranking is one of the Times Higher Education ranking systems, which are issued annually to compare universities' performance internationally. The Times University Impact Ranking  in its sixth edition, measures each university's contribution and performance with regard to each United Nations sustainable development goal. This year, 2152 universities from 130 countries were subjected to competition and evaluation, according to the criteria of United Nations 2030 sustainable development goals. This comes with an increase of 5 universities loacally and 374 universities internationally. Menofia University has achieved noticeable progress on 11 out of 17 goals on this international ranking system.
