Hypertension .. the silent killer

Today the seminar of “Hypertension the silent killer “ ended up its recommendation in the ideal treatment of hypertension and protection with importance instructions for healthy life as following flexibility in face of daily pressures that by managing time to avoid it by using leisure time in listening to music and meditation ,be on a diet ,do exercises and treating obesity ,and losing weight .

Where, Dr. Wafaa Hassan Abdullah ,assistant lecturer at the department of internal nursing medicine and surgery at Faculty of Nursing confirmed that hypertension has many causes that divided into two sections primary reasons happens as result of tension , stress , obesity , and eating large amounts of sodium salts of work pressure and sometimes due to genetic factors, and secondary  causes due to kidney failure diseases, thyroid and hardening of the blood vessels as a result of the progress of work or increased cholesterol and pregnancy are some medicines and eating too much like cortisone pills and painkillers, and is considered the normal rate of blood pressure is 120/80 and show symptoms of headache and swelling in some parts of the body loss of appetite , weakness in the sight , nausea, difficulty in breathing, severe palpitations of the heart.

Dr. Samah Mohamed Abdul Ghafar , Assistant Lecturer at Department of Internal Medicine Nursing and surgery at Faculty of Nursing also added that the periodic fellow up of Blood pressure protect heart and protect against sudden  death, stroke , heart attacks and  panics, she also added that 26% of Egyptian suffers from hypertension because of their lifestyle ,stress, smoking, and fits that lead to speed increase in Blood cholesterol and hardening of the arteries , she also recommended to hear music, do meditation.

At the end of the seminar, Dr. Amal Shehata , Vice Dean of Faculty of Nursing for Community Service and Environmental Development enumerate a series of steps that will help in the effective prevention to avoid hypertension the most important is avoiding  eating junk food and care to eat vegetables and fruits, especially apples, celery, bananas, saffron, garlic, tomatoes, broccoli and carrots and fenugreek, beets, cucumbers and lemon for being foods help to treat high blood pressure, this in addition to the regular drug therapy.

 The seminar organized by the Community Service and Environmental Development sector and under the auspices of  Prof, Dr. Moawad Khouly the rector and under the supervision of  Dr. Abdul Rahman Kurmanbek Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development.
