Dr. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired a meeting of the Board of Directors of the New and Renewable Energy Research Center in the presence of Dr. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President of the University for Community Service Affairs, and members of the Board of Directors of the Center, Dr. Mohamed Saafan, Dr. Ismail Saqr, Dr. Mohamed Nawar, Engineer Mohamed Ajlan, and Dr. Magdy Abu Ghazala, Supervisor of the Center.
Dr. Ahmed El-Kased stressed the need to direct students to study in the new energy departments and market needs.
El-Kased also called for the necessity of adopting a national project such as the biogas project to produce biofuel and converting one of the governorate's centers to be a center for implementing the project, stressing the university's readiness to support the project as a house of expertise in addition to directing scientific research to serve industry and national projects and cooperating with the private sector and civil society to improve sustainability and activate the role of the center within the governorate.
Dr. Ahmed El-Qassed pointed out the need to develop a clear vision for rationalizing energy and shifting towards green jobs, and preparing cadres to operate green projects.
The envoy added that the committee discussed the latest developments in the committee's work, and approved the plan for courses and seminars on new and renewable energy for the new academic year. The committee also agreed to implement a training course for students and graduates on solar energy systems and generating biogas from animal waste. The committee also agreed to establish solar energy stations on the roofs of some colleges and agreed to sign a cooperation protocol between the center and the Energy Committee of the Engineers Syndicate.
