Menoufia University announces the results of the "El Refaee Martyr Tournament" for the chess championship with the participation of 33 universities

Under the auspices of Prof. Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, Menoufia University, in cooperation with the Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities, organized the competitions of the sports tournament for students of Egyptian universities and institutes "El Refaee Martyr Tournament" for the chess championship with the participation of 33 universities and the number of players reached 114 male and female students, under the supervision of Prof. Nasser Abdel Bari, Vice President of the University for Education and Student Affairs, and in the presence of Dr. Mohamed Amin, Technical Director of the Egyptian Sports Federation for Universities, Dr. Yasser Mabrouk, Head of the Competitions Committee, and Dr. Mohamed Shaheen, Director General of Student Care.

Prof. Ahmed El-Kased expressed his happiness at hosting this competition at the university, stressing the importance of these competitions in enhancing the sportsmanship and communication between university students and the importance of chess as a mental game that contributes to developing strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. El-Kased also praised the distinguished performance of the students and the active participation of all participating universities, congratulating the winning teams.

The university president stressed the importance of practicing student activities and sports, which go hand in hand with students' academic achievement. He explained that student activities contribute to developing the student's personality and expanding his/her horizons, discovering and developing talents, and enhancing team spirit and cooperation among them.

Prof. Nasser Abdel Bary announced that the results of the competitions were as follows: Alexandria University won first place in the boys' individual competitions, the Egyptian Chinese University won second place, and the Egyptian Japanese University won third place.

In the boys' team competitions, Alexandria University won first place, Menoufia University won second place, and Benha University won third place.

In the girls' individual competitions, Alexandria University won second place, and Al-Azhar University won third place.

In the girls' team competitions, Alexandria University won first and second place, while Zagazig University won third place.

Prof. Nasser Abdel Bary, Vice President of the University, honored the winning teams and presented them with prizes, medals, and cups.

The list of universities participating in the session included: Menoufia University, 6th of October University, Helwan University, Alexandria University, Hertfordshire University, Egyptian Japanese University, Swedish University, Zagazig University, Sohag University, Assiut University, Benha University, Higher Education, Damanhour University, Egyptian Chinese University, Cairo University, Deraya University, Al-Azhar University, Nile University, Kafr El-Sheikh University, German International University, Misr Informatics University, Menoufia University, Nahda University in Beni Suef, Sinai University, Tanta University, Horus University, Russian University, Canadian University, Future University, Pharos University, American University, and Galala University. The competition was supervised by the General Administration of Student Care, Social Activity Department, including Mohamed Khattab, Activity Manager, Ahmed Seif, Rasha Abdel Salam, Arej Arfa, Sarah Shadid, and Maha Al-Ashmawy, in addition to the Sports Activity Department, led by Yasser Gamal, Activity Manager, Moataz Sadek, Activity Supervisor, Mahmoud Hafez, Wesal Al-Qot, Hossam Mahgoub, Ali Al-Sayed, Khaled Talaba, Nabil El-Gendi, Jihan Sami, Mohamed Farid, and Ahmed Abdel Rahim. The competitions were also refereed by the referees of the Egyptian Chess Federation, in the presence of Mina Mansour, Game Supervisor.
