Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, chaired the University Facilities Committee meeting for March 2025. The meeting was attended by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development; Prof. Nasser Nasser Abdel-Bari, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs; Prof. Ekramy Gamal, Secretary-General of the University; Accountant Ashraf El-Nattat, Assistant Secretary-General of the University; Dr. Ayman Abdel-Hamid, Engineering Advisor to the University President; the Director of the Engineering Consulting Center; committee members; deans of relevant faculties; heads of the Civil and Architectural Engineering Departments at the Faculty of Engineering; and directors-general of Engineering, Maintenance, Legal, Strategic, and Needs Affairs.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased indicated that the committee reviewed the report of the General Administration of Engineering Affairs on the implementation status of the projects currently underway and included in the university's plan, the percentage of completion for each project, and their financial status. The committee also reviewed the implementation status of maintenance work at the various faculties and university units, as well as replacement, development, and renovation work.
El-Kased added that the committee ratified the minutes of the previous Facilities Committee, noting that the tenders for the Sadat Land walls and the Center for People with Disabilities at the Faculty of Arts, the laboratories on the sixth and seventh floors of the Faculty of Pharmacy, the installation of two elevators at the Faculty of Medicine, and the installation of tanks and pumps at the Technical Institute in Manshiyat Sultan, in addition to the tender documents for the Oncology Institute expansion building and the fire network at the sports stadium, have been completed.
During the meeting, the University President also discussed with the committee members the monthly report on the implementation status of ongoing or proposed projects. These include the completion of the elevation of the entrance to the Faculty of Medicine and the general site, the elevation of the Emergency Hospital, the completion of the Faculty of Dentistry building and its outpatient clinics, the central library at the Faculty of Pharmacy and the auditoriums, the auditorium buildings in some faculties, and the multi-purpose halls building at the Faculty of Education. The committee also discussed the maintenance of the Technical Institute of Nursing, the development of the university's administrative building, and the development of the general site of the theoretical complex.
The committee also discussed new projects, including the development of university hospitals, the inclusion of the fire project at the Faculty of Physical Education and Auditorium 105 at the Faculty of Specific Education in Ashmoun.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased emphasized the need for concerted efforts and the development of a clear plan and vision to expedite project completion and optimally utilize the university's resources. He also emphasized the need to establish a follow-up and implementation mechanism that ensures satisfactory results with the highest quality and institutionalized project management. This is to control performance, expedite completion, and expedite project implementation. The University President and the committee members attended the presentation of four different designs for the walls and gates of the university grounds in Sadat City, which were made by faculty members in the Department of Architecture at the Faculty of Engineering.
