Under the auspices of Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of the University, and Major General Ibrahim Abu Laimon, Governor of Menoufia, Menoufia University organized a comprehensive medical convoy to examine students at the Al-Noor School for the Blind in Shebin El-Kom. The convoy was supervised by Prof. Sobhi Sharaf, Vice President for Community Service and Environmental Development, and in cooperation with the Women's Affairs Department, the Equal Opportunities and Population Units, and the Child Protection Unit, the Decent Life Foundation, with the participation of the Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy.
Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of the University, emphasized that the University is keen to contribute to the implementation of the state's plan and the directives of His Excellency President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, President of the Republic, to provide healthcare and treatment services to society in general, and to those with special needs in particular. The University continues to launch more convoys throughout the governorate, within the framework of the presidential "Decent Life" initiative, the "Beginning" initiative, and to achieve the goals of sustainable development and Egypt's Vision 2030.
The envoy noted that the convoy included distinguished medical personnel in various medical specialties. The goal is to improve the level of integrated medical services, provide more care to vulnerable groups in society, and contribute positively to the advancement of health, social, and environmental development. It also aims to provide medical and awareness services to citizens in various fields in the most needy areas and villages within the governorate. This contributes to supporting the university's societal, developmental, and service role and fulfilling its responsibilities towards society in all its sectors.
For his part, Prof. Sobhi added that the convoy held an awareness seminar on "Methods of Addressing Violence Against Children" and reviewed the services provided by the Child Protection Department in the governorate, including assessment and social support, psychological assessment and support, and the provision of health services in cooperation with relevant authorities. In addition, a large number of male and female students from the school were examined, some of whom were given free medication through the College of Pharmacy's charitable pharmacy. Some cases were also referred to the university hospital for further examinations, testing, and necessary medical tests and surgeries.
The Faculties of Medicine and Pharmacy participated in the caravan, under the supervision of Prof. Mohamed El-Noamani, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, Prof. Haitham Maimoun, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy, Prof. Rania Azmy, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Medicine for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, Prof. Shady Allam, Vice Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy for Community Service and Environmental Development Affairs, and in the presence of Enas Mohi El-Din, Director of the Women's Affairs Department and the Equal Opportunities and Population Units, and Director of the Child Protection Unit.
