Under the patronage of Prof. Mohamed Ayman Ashour, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and Prof. Ahmed El-Kased, President of Menoufia University, a delegation from Menoufia University's Entrepreneurship Department participated in the "Delta Universities Youth Entrepreneurship Week," which kicked off today, Monday, May 5, 2025.
This event is considered the largest and most influential in the field of entrepreneurship in the Delta region, with a large turnout of representatives and students from ten universities from across the region, in addition to a select group of experts and specialists in innovation and entrepreneurship.
The event was attended by Prof. Montaser Dowidar, President of Samanoud University of Technology, and a number of university leaders and faculty members. The event was held in an atmosphere of interaction and enthusiasm, reflecting the importance of this event in supporting and developing the entrepreneurial capabilities of young people.
The opening ceremony was held at the university headquarters under the patronage of Prof. Montaser Dowidar, President of the University, and was attended by:
• Prof. El-Sayed El-Agouz, Vice President for Education and Student Affairs
• Prof. Walid Raslan, Dean of the Faculty of Industrial and Energy Technology
• Dr. Heba El-Fouti, Director of the Innovation Center and Entrepreneurship Club at the University
Participating in the event were the following universities: Mansoura University, Mansoura Private University, Menoufia University, New Mansoura University, Damietta University, Delta University for Science and Technology, Delta University for Science and Technology, El-Salam University, and Horus University.
This week is held in cooperation with the entrepreneurship clubs at Delta University and the Academy of Scientific Research and Technology, with the aim of promoting a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship among young people and providing a stimulating environment to support entrepreneurial ideas and transform them into projects and startups.
In his opening remarks, Prof. Montaser Dowidar expressed his pride in hosting this event at the university, emphasizing the university's commitment to being a role model in supporting innovation and entrepreneurship. He said: "This week represents a golden opportunity to discover the latent potential of university students and transform their ideas into viable projects, in line with the country's vision for a knowledge-based and creative economy."
The first day featured a variety of activities, most notably a number of panel discussions and workshops presented by a group of experts, including:
• Dr. Nabil Shalaby, who presented a seminar entitled "The Entrepreneurial University"
• Dr. Mona Abu El-Ezz, who spoke about "From Idea to Implementation"
• Dr. Ahmed El-Sheikh, who moderated a panel discussion entitled "Your Path to Entrepreneurship"
• Dr. Afnan Barakat, who gave a lecture on "Design Thinking and an Introduction to Entrepreneurship"
• Dr. Essam El-Baali, who discussed "The Circular Economy and Environmental Entrepreneurship"
• Dr. Mohammed Al-Manssan spoke about "Supporting the Culture of Entrepreneurship through Innovation Centers."
The week's activities will continue over the coming days, with interactive online sessions held on Tuesday and Wednesday with the participation of local and international entrepreneurs, along with the qualifying rounds for the Entrepreneurship Club's first camp competition next Thursday. The activities will conclude with an expanded dialogue session titled "Your Path to Entrepreneurship."
Dr. Heba Al-Fouti explained that the week is part of the activities of the Entrepreneurship Club, supported by the Academy of Scientific Research, with the aim of spreading the culture of entrepreneurship within the university community. Dr. Nabil Shalaby emphasized the importance of universities adopting practical steps to transform into entrepreneurial universities, most notably building an integrated ecosystem.
At the conclusion of the first day, the guests and participating delegations were honored in recognition of their effective role in the success of the event, which represents an important milestone in supporting and empowering university youth and developing their innovative capabilities.
