Menofia University President, and Vice-president for Community Service, Participate in the 10th International Conference on the Arab Impact Factor held in KSA

Prof. Ahmed Elkased, Menofia University President, and Prof. Sobhy Sharaf, Vice-president for Community Service and Environmental Affairs, are participating in the 10th International Conference on the Arab Impact Factor, entitled "Scientific Publishing and Information Economy". The conference is held from 1st to the 4th, this September, at King Khalid University in Abha, Saudi Arabia; and is organized by the Association of Arab Universities. 

Also participating in the conference is Dr. Amr Ezzat Salama, Secretary General of the Association of Arab Universities; the Egyptian Consul General in Jeddah; Dr. Essam Sharaf, former Egyptian Prime Minister; and an elite of Egyptian and Arab Universities' presidents, including Prof. Essam Alkurdy, New Alamein University President; Prof. Muawwad Alkholy, New Mansoura University President; and Dr. Ahmed Saeed Faheem, the Egyptian Cultural Attaché in Riyadh.

Prof. Ahmed Elkased said that the conference, which is a collaboration between the Association of Arab Universities and the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils, aims to explore the latest developments and issues related to scientific publishing and its integral role in building information economy-- through discussions on various scientific axes that would shed light on the ways of developing scientific publishing means, scientific integrity, open publishing, digital transformation, publication analyses, intellectual property and authorization, in addition to exploring future funding and partnership possibilities, as well as motivation and academic promotion mechanisms.

The conference also aims to discuss the criteria for the Arab ranking system for universities, review the best practices in scientific publishing, research mechanisms for enhancing Arab Universities scores on international ranking systems, in addition to fostering the role of scientific research and innovation in serving community issues and sustainable development.

Menofia University President expressed his content for sharing in this great scientific event, stressing that the conference is a good opportunity to exchange points of view and experiences among Arab Universities, foster joint collaboration to support higher education and scientific research in the Arab world, activate the role of universities in achieving scientific leadership-- in accordance with the principles and criteria of the national strategy for higher education and Egypt's vision 2030.

Elkased stated that Menofia University gave special care to scientific research, community service, and environmental development. It also succeeded in scoring many achievements locally and internationally; and strives to continuously upgrade its academic and research programs to match quality and accreditation benchmarks, and enhance its status among Arab and international universities.

The Vice-president for Community Service and Environmental Affairs said that the conference gleaned wide contributions from Arab Universities Presidents, Vice-presidents, Deans, faculty and researchers, directors of publishing units and international ranking systems, quality and accreditation units, administrators at universities and academic establishments, in addition to representatives of institutions of information systems and services. Thus, the conference becomes a distinct scientific platform that gathers various Arabic and international expertise in the field of scientific research development.

The inauguration session stressed the importance of scientific publishing as an integral tool in building information economy, enhancing the status of Arab Universities on international ranking systems, and connecting scientific research to sustainable development pathways.
